Suspension packages

With tax refund time I figure the next mod to do is suspension- I'm looking at 2 handling packages- the FRPP GT coupe 05-10 handling package, and the Saleen handling package - my question is - there's a $400 or so difference in price. The Ford package comes with a few extra things- like a strut tower brace, which I already have- so really I'm wanting to know if the quality of the shocks, struts, springs warrants paying that difference.

Im really leaning towards the Saleen package - it's hard to beat $749- but t the same time I don't want to cheap out on my suspension if the Ford pack really is the way to go. Advice?

Also - I have done most of my own installs but this is probably over my head. How much should I expect to pay for install. And I'll probably want to get an alignment as well...

nither get some steeda sport springs and some srtt shocks and struts. The install is not to bad and can be done with simple hand tools. For a rookie figure about 4 hours for the install. Lots of local places can do the install for you just call around. I would think under 300 for the install. You will probably need a panhard bar and those go for under 150 and very easy to install also

What is your ultimate goal? Do you want to track it or just have a bad a$$ street handling car?

PM with your goals and we can put together a package to meet your needs and see if we can save you some money along the way without compromising quality of parts.

Thanks

TJ

Glenn- this is funny because after I posted this yesterday morning I did some research and came to the conclusion I needed the Koni Strt shocks/struts and Steeda sport springs and went over to the legend lime forum with that idea. Too funny. Well I know I'm on the right track. What's a pan hard bar for?

Okay, these pics show how high in the rear my car is sitting since I swapped out the 17s for staggered 18s. Love my rims, but need to lower her big time. Afraid to drop more than an inch, and would want most of the drop to be in the rear, I think.... The roads here are hellacious and if I go too low I won't have bumpers or an exhaust system by the end of the year....

LL is the bestest color. the panhard bar will help center the wheels under the car. Some say its needed and some say its not needed. I needed it.

My car sags to the rear passenger side... Is that what the pan hard bar fixes?

Yes! If you look at the rear of your ride and the wheels stick out farther on one side than the other a adjustable panhard bar will fix this. Get a piece of string with a little weight on the end and tape it to your quarter panel dead center with the center cap on your wheel. then measure with a tape measure from the string to your center cap. Do this with a half tank of gas.

The axel is not over to one side more than the other, it's as if a fat lady is sitting in the back seat passenger side...

I was thinking the springs may have been installed incorrectly.

You can do it yourself? No spring compressor needed or anything?
