I do not really know why they think that the Saleen units are not good quality. I have not heard that one before...

I do know that procharger did have an oil leaking problem when they first introduced the 05 kit, but I am fairly sure that it was promptly corrected.

I personaly did not like the way you have to run tubing all over the engine compartment with a centrifical application like the Procharger. I also wanted more bottom end torque. That is what the twin screws blowers do for you. You can feel a lot more grunt without having to rev the engine into the higher RPM ranges.

I would ask that shop what they think about a Kenny Bell unit. If they trash it, I would RUN ( NOT WALK ) away as fast as you can...

I've been researching superchargers for a few months now, and at first I was deciding between a Vortech and Procharger. I decided against the Procharger because I've read so many posts on the internet regarding people's problems with them. I just get the vibe that they have lots of problems. Then I eventually decided against the Vortech because a) I want a self contained unit; no tapping into the oil pan! B) Screw it, I want the tire burning, low end power of a twin screw. c) I hear that centrifugals are pretty loud...me no likey loud.

I decided on the Saleen because of reputation and I just trust that they are safe...I haven't read any posts of people having problems with it.

Now, I have two questions. What am I look at for installation and tuning costs of the Saleen kit?

There are many guys over at ModularFords.com running superchargers now, and most of them went the Saleen route. There are also literally dozens of threads relating to blowers there. Here is an example of one of the most recent threads, with some good info in it (in particular, post #12).

I also strongly suggest you snoop around on some of the other threads there. Lots of very good "real world" insight on installation, upgrading (pulley, injectors, MAF), tuning, dyno numbers, problems/issues (and how to address them), etc.
