I agree with SWortham. There is no guarantee the problem is in the tires. It should be in a rotating component on the front suspension of the car. Non-concentric wheel(s) could cause this problem. Tire balancing might not pick it up if the balancer is using the center of the rim vs. the bolt holes in the rim. I have not noticed if it is predominant with the bullet wheels or the upgrade wheels. These types of problems are very noticeable on front wheel drive cars like Hondas with their sensitive steering.

Two puzzling things to consider are that tire replacement hasn't fixed the problem on some cars, and that Jonathan mentioned the vibration in his steering wheel goes away when the clutch is pressed in.

Hey all. I was searching through for front end vibration and found this topic. I've got a V6 05 with BF Goodrich tires. i've dropped over 23k on the car now, and I have a vibration. It's at speeds above 60 MPH, and for me, it seems to intensify with heat. The hotter it is, the more it shakes. I'm taking her to the dealer to have it checked out soon.

I have cross-rotated and verified 100 lb/ft of torque on the lugs. It seems to fade in and out and at times it simply dissapears. No clue. I don't think it's tire related though... we have too many folks with too many brands of tires for it to be simply a tire defect. it may be, but I'm feeling iffy on that... I'll let you know what my dealer tells me when I get the car in for service.

I had this same problem with Goodyear tires. Even after they were balanced and the car was aligned it would vibrate around 55-60 above or below it was fine.

Basically in the end it was the tire. I switched to BFGoodrich and the problem went away.

Hey guys, my problem was definitely with the tires. They road balanced them all and three were close to being out of spec. So, they ordered three new pirellis and that fixed her up!

However, I do notice a little steering wheel shake during the first drive. It seems the stock tires like to flat spot over night. After a few minutes it is gone.

Mine does this all the time irregardless of temp. I thought it might be related, but it's not. The vibration takes on a whole new feel around interstate speeds as well. If I run 75-80, I really notice more vibration coming from all 4 corners, and the wheel begins to shake more than at lower speeds. Since I spend 90% of my driving time on the interstate and on 2 lane back roads with speeds at a minimum of 55-60, I find that it tires me out pretty quickly.

I'll have the guys check the balancing on the wheels and see what they turn up. I've got to take it in for an unrelated (yet equally as frustrating) problem that requires a new part. I'll let you guys know what checks back out when I hear something.
