Steeda CAI filter (FRPP / Shelby GT) falling off?
Has anyone else noticed their Steeda/FRPP/Shelby CAI filter slipping off the black plastic piece that attaches to the MAF housing? I just noticed mine was coming off after about 1100 miles of driving. It came to the point where I could just pull the filter off even with the hose clamp attached.
I seated it and re-tightened the clamp, but I think it might come off in the future because the black plastic velocity stack doesn't have a lip around the outer edge to keep the filter in place.

Let me speak to the team here and see if there has been any issues regarding the filter and the clamp.
I personally have not heard of that issue so I will see if there is any other emails about this.
Best Regards,
TJ

Ive had the Steeda CAI on since they first came out and I've never had it happen. Unless they've changed the design since then so that the velocity stack is narrower , it shouldn't happen ...

I might not have tightened the hose clamp enough, but the polyurethane is slippery. The velocity stack is also smooth where the filter attaches. I tightened the clamp more, but I don't want to cut/damage the filter from tightening it too much. I just felt that a small lip at the very outer edge of the velocity stack would retain the filter better.
Metroplex,
Here is what I have recieved from my team..
It most likely has some air filter oil on either the velocity stack or the air filter flange. You most likely just needs to clean off the oil and that should fix it.
Let me know if this does the trick!
