I think somethings wrong

A friend of mine has a 07 GT 5 speed mods are 3.73s, JLT cold air, SCT programmer, Pacesetter LTs, Offroad mid pipe, and muffler deletes on the stock axle back (yea its loud) but with a set of ET streets the car ran a 13.5 at 101.8. Doesn't the trap speed seem awfully low? on average it traps 99-100. I was actually driving it for the 13.5 at 101.8 and powershifted ever gear, shifted at 6k. It cut a 2.0 60ft. One hopping rotation of the tires and it left. Is it possible the low trap speeds are coming from the lack of mufflers? Do mod motors need backspressure? Another thing what does he need to do to stop the wheel hop? If you could get a proper launch I think the car has another tenth or so in it but why the low trap speed? Thanks

These cars can run high 12s w next to no mods... I think these email tunes are horrible... After I get my dyno tune I will have a definitive answer ... If you don't believe me about the times get on s197forum.com and start reading...

Actually I was expecting 12.90s. I'm honestly an F-body person but I know the car should have more in it. I've seen alot of guys run the 13.5 stock. And I know the driving wasn't the factor other than the hole shot could have been improved but I don't think they're was alot to be had. The car feels almost like it has flat spots throughout the rev range. My camaro went 12.8 at 106 with just a lid, headers, and a 410 and I figured a basically full bolt on 4.6 would do as good or better than a lightly modded LS1.

I agree. I would check with one of the big tuners for a better tune (Steeda, Bama, Brenspeed). It should be running better times and e.t.s than that.

I think its the tune as well. I ran 13's stock and hit 12's with CAI, tune, off-road mid pipe, and MT radials.
