Glenn, do you have pics of how they broke? the one that broke on mine seems to have broken so there's more ceramic sticking out than there is room to compress on the plug end. (see the abscess in the piece I removed in the pic)

I have the same tool that you mentioned but when I used the pusher it seems to start crunching the porcelain before I can get it in far enough. I tried using the "puller" part and it brings out porcelain chips in the thread but won't grab onto any metal. My concern is that I'm just going to break the porcelain and force it into the combustion chamber.

The tool is supose to be delivered tomorrow. If you happen to leave chips in the cylinder you can vacum them out. Just attach a piece of 1/2 id hose to your vacum cleaner and slide it in through the spark plug hole. Should work out fine. I'll post a picture of my plugs tomorrow.
You can also get some of the loctite #638 and glue a coat hanger into where the rod came out of your ceramic and try to pull it out. Check out that pdf posted on page one for that info from like page 5 on use a hanger instead of the pin

 

no pics of the plugs I had two that broke like yours. The extractor tool worked like a charm on all my broken plugs. It does sound like it chips the ceramic I use the vacum cleaner and a piece of hose to clean it up after using the pusher tool. I used 3/8 hose not 1/2 inch to vacum out the cylinder after removing the lower half of the broken plug.
I picked up the champion plugs from autozone total was 174 before the guy gave me a discount and 156 after the discount. They are one piece plugs. The autolights are two piece. I just checked sparkplugs.com and they have them delivered for 117.00

 

Finally got it, just had to go all the way with that pusher. It's one of those cases where you have to get over that instinct to stop when things sound like they are breaking

 

yea the instructions state screw it all the way in.
