Spark plug thread change in 08?

According to Brenspeed, there was a change in threading during Feb. 2008 on the Mustangs. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm trying to order some HT0's, but I don't want to order the wrong pitched/thread plugs. Anyone have any info? My 08 was made in November of 2007.

The heads on the 4.6 were redesigned in late Oct-Nov, 07 and there is now a new plug with a different length grounding shield for those heads. Since your build date is just at the change date I think the best thing would be to pull a plug and take it to the Ford dealer and it compare to them to see what you have. That is the only way to be absolutely sure.

That's true, I'll probably end up doing that.

I don't think you will need to take in the plug. You should know when you see it. I think the new plug is a sandard one and not the High Thread design.

Motorcraft Part Numbers.
Old Plug: SP462
New Plug: SP509
