For those of you that are not aware. I purchased a manual GT and three weeks later gave it to my grown son and ordered an automatic for myself. I have been waiting, waiting and more waiting and observing the deliveries to Florida and other states. Today son came by and took me for a ride to help me through the Stang Withdrawals and it did help and he got on it hard once just to show me he was learning to drive it better. This was my first time ever in the passenger seat. There is no steering wheel to hang over there so I was moved about a little and was impressed. You guys take your hip fathers for an G Force ride. But not right after a meal or eating watermelon as that would be a very bad time for all. I now have my fix for this week. I hope he does the same next week or as long as it takes to get the other one. I need to stay in shape. Tony its nice to see you are keeping yours cleaned out. ROLL ON

Wow Bill. You gave the GT to your son. What a lucky guy. Hopefully yours will come in soon. Take care.

Adoption papers anyone

Thats great Bill, you're one super Dad! Don't suppose your son would be willing to do the same for me while I wait??????

Actually, one of the dealerships (not where I ordered mine) has a couple GTs on their lot, but I decided the wait would be harder if I went and test drove one. The only drive I've had in a GT was at the Ford Innovation Drive at the Kentucky Speedway, and I think I'm going to keep it that way.

I took a buddys Dad for a ride in my Mustang. He's 65 and recently retired, so I just dropped by to show off my car since he's one of the only people I know who'd be home on a mid week afternoon. He's a Ford guy, funny since both his sons are bow tie fans and his wife swears by Toyota.

After the initial walk around and showing off the motor I could tell he was wanting to ride in it, so I offered a quick run around the block. I didn't even get on it all that much since it was still brand new, but he had a grin ear to ear and was giddy like a school girl.

Was really fun to see how much he dug my car since most of my friends like chevys and don't really seem too excitted over this car. He later would not stop bragging to everyone how cool it was and how much it reminded him so much of the early Mustangs, or Moostah's as he called them.

A couple times since I've owned the car, my wife and I have gone out on Friday or Saturday night and I've had way too much to drink to drive, so she drives us home. And I can tell you that when you are a passenger you feel the acceleration a lot more. Maybe because you don't have a steering wheel to grab onto, or maybe it's because yo aren't controlling the pedals so you don't know when to anticipate and lean forward a bit. Not sure what it is, but there is definitely a difference. I've asked her to get on it a few good times and it's a rush.

You could be right. But I wasn't "drunk". I just don't like to drive even after having a few beers (two is my max). Anyone else been both a passenger (a sober one) and a driver in your '05 and know what I mean?

I am going to let my dad drive my car once mine is broken in. He owned a modded 66 Stang and loves the new ones.

Ian - funny you mention the passenger "feeling the rush"....recently (right after installing my JLT/SCT combo) I took my girlfriend for a ride and she's familiar with my driving - but the way the car just LUNGES ahead from a 4K 2nd gear punch - shocked/scared her a little bit - this thing is FAST.....you can feel it in the supension as it lurches forward.....definite "grin factor"......

I have one of those dash holders for the cell phone with a spring grip to hold it firmly in place. The other day, the cell phone became a missile when I floored it. My passenger, who was holding my Predator tuner, had to dodge it. He told me that he reached for it but the g force of the acceleration made him slow to react!

Nice to know that my spark advance holds steady at 125 mph too, right where it should be,at 30-31.

BTW, Ford, where are the J handles?
