I have searched the threads and haven't found anybody with the same issue so I thought I would try to find some help.

I just had new Powerslot rotors and Hawk ceramic pads put on my car and when it was taken for a test drive there was a shimmy in the front while braking. Normally this would indicate a warped rotor but I want to be sure there is nothing else that could be causing this. There was no shimmy with the OE rotors and pads.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

can you feel it from one side like left or right? if so try switching the rotor to the other side and make sure all your lug nuts are tight as well as the bolts for the caliper.

 

Also check for rust and debris under the rotor that could be causing a shim effect.

 

drilled and or slotted rotors are not directional?

 

may sound stupid but are you sure your lugnuts are tight? crazy things happen.

 

If someone used an impact and hammered the hell out of the lugnuts this would cause warped rotors. The correct way to install lugnuts is by using a torque wrench.

Also, new rotors can be warped right out of the box, not all that uncommon.
