The computer is mapped to premium fuel, it relies on the knock sensors to adjust timing to allow it to run on 87. Check out august 2005 5.o mustangs and ford it refers to this in an article on supercharging th 2005.
You won't do any harm runnning premium in a stock GT.
and if you choose to run 87 the knock sensors will accomodate that.
Will 93 octane help my my performance in a stock engine with NO mods yet?

Your mpg will go down, without a tune to adjust for the 93 octane. MPG may go down in any case.

I believe Shell has the best quality gas around. But they are also the most expensive.
I only use shell in my mustang. Actually for me its about the cheapest around, there is one shell station on my way home just off the interstate that always beats the price on even the cheapo generic stations. Funny because there is a Mobil across the street from it and its usually a 10 cent price difference. Guess they do so much business because of location they can afford a little loss.

you won't do any harm and will gain power, the stock computer is tuned for premium and adjusts for 87 with the knock sensors. You do not need a tune to use premium.

I've found that my car detonates at high rpm on 87,l so I switched to 93 which turned out to be the right move.

Check out august 5.0 mustangs for real information and not anecdotes.

Maybe you should try using "Unleaded" foot...
