Faces the driver side.

Push the saleen adapter block up onto the bottom of the shifter, then push the aluminum bushing through the hole on the bottom of the shifter, then the bolt through the bushing and thread it into the opposite side of the saleen block and tighten (be sure to use a little red loctite to keep it from vibrating loose).

Now just reconnect the linkage to the hole in the saleen block (that you have pushed the original plastic bushings into) and tighten the nut so it is just barely snug--NOT TIGHT. Done. Go enjoy it. I put the MGW shift **** on mine and set it so that it is about 1/2" to 3/4" higher than stock and this shifter is absolutely perfect now. I think the heavier weight of the MGW ****, coupled with the slightly increased height made the shift effort slightly easier and almost the same as stock--just much shorter and crisper.

I'd like to know too. The Saleen instructions are a bit vague and the pictures stink. Can we bribe you to take pictures of yours?

That may be the easiest solution! If I have time today, I'll crawl underneath and snap a picture to post.

I had my mechanic install the shifter and I have 2 problems with it. One is it is very tight. I say this owning a 95 Z28 with a hust shifter and A
Celica Gts with a B&M Shifter as my last 2 cars before my 05gt. The second problem is in 2 days I've had trouble at 6200 RPM from 1st to 2nd getting it to go in gear when shifting fast. I missed a gear like that once or twice in 5 months with the stock shifter. I think I am going to get it taken out unless someone thinks my mechanic installed wrong.

My guess is that your mechanic overtightened the bolt that connects the linkage. I know I did at first. If you have a set of ramps, it's easy enough to get underneath and loosen that nut a half turn. Depress clutch and try shifting through the gears. If still tight, loosen another half turn and try shifting through the gears again. I think I ended up backing mine off about 1-1/2 turns and it made a big difference in the "tightness" of it--now it is not tight at all to hit the gears. No problem with missed shifts, either.

As requested, here are pics. Not the best, as it is pretty tight under there, but it should help with the orientation.

Here's one taken from the passenger's side of the driveshaft, camera facing the front of the car:
