Saleen Short Shift Adapter
Does anyone know anything about this? I haven't heard anything about it and I'm curious as to what it does

I have one waiting to go on. As soon as the car gets here I'll let you know. The instructions are a little unclear, but it looks like it replaces an existing part and changes the angle at which the stick attaches to the tranny. I figured it was cheap enought to give it a try.
In my travels
, I've come to realize that the shifting issue isn't going to be fully cured by means of changing out the shifter. The problem is that the stock shifter and all current aftermarket shifters are supported by the body. The tranny has the V shaped rubber piece in the tranny support and the motor mounts are a hydro bushing support, if you haven't changed them out. So, you have some torquing of the motor and tranny, but limited movement in the shifter. Bottom line, a shifter supported by the tranny and not by the body is ideal. Mr. Gasket has one in the works. It's not going to be next week or next month. A Tremec rep told me that they had one on the back burner. Mr. Gasket will also have a package containing the shifter, single piece driveshaft and a couple other items. If you ever get a chance to attend a NMRA event, you see a red Procharger 05 Mustang driven by Uncle Robin (Robin Lawrence). He has worked around this issue and has this Mr. Gasket prototype shifter in his 05. He was telling me it is sooo much better. Downfall to him was that there was more side-to-side movement but didn't hinder the shifting at all. He said it was much smoother shifting.

Is it easier to install then the other shifters like hurst or steeda?

Don't ask me how I know
One of the main areas that allows the sloppy feel is: the stick is a 2 piece design that if you take the shifter boot off you will see that the top of the stick has a press fit pin and a rubber "o-ring". It allows a lot of movement and after time I have noticed that you can hear a metallic click when shifting hard. The click is b/c the rubber o-ring does n't stop the pivoting movement of the top stick relative to the bottom...

The adapter just arrived at my house, I'll have a full report when I put it in during the weekend.

Did you put in the adapter?
Yes, my friend did most of the work, no pics however. We just used jack stands and a floor jack. The throw is very short. It is stiffer and seems a little more notchy(?) if you catch my drift. I would definately recommend it for the price, how it compares to the Hurst and B&M which are whole new shifters I do not know.
It's only 29 bucks direct from Saleen.... http://www.saleen.com/SC101_Services/SC101...=10-2705-B11516
Thanks for the review! I ordered mine last week. I'll post a review when I install it (hopefully this weekend if it arrives). For $30, it's a no brainer to at least try. If I like it, I'll get the $15 bushings and that should tide me over until the MGW shifter is released.
Well it mounts to the bottom of the shifter. Its a little hard to work around the exhaust and driveshaft but you just have to be patient. We let the car cool down for quite a while but its under an hour.
Its pretty easy only need hand tools and red locktight. I haven't actually missed third the whole time I've had my car, haven't hit the track yet though. But so far all is good, it is stiffer then stock.

on all my older mustangs the pro 5.0 shifter was the solution to all my problems. with the pro 5.0 when you shift from 2 to 3rd it automatically moves the shifter over to the right a little so all you have to do is go straight up, it is awsome and makes shifting much faster
