RPM outlet axlebacks

I know RPM outlet has been getting flamed lately but I've had good experiences with them. I see they offer a really cheap muffler. I know cheap usually means crap but wondering if anyone has tried these. I love the way my stock mufflers sound with my O/R pro chamber but it could be just a tad louder and I like the 4" tip these offer also.

Iv'e never used RPM outlet and never will, theres enough guys on here and other boards that have had enough crappy service to steer me away. Even if I was to get good service I dont think they deserve the business.

fyi, both Jegs and Summit racing offer a very inexpensive, like less than 200, axle-back for the 05 gts. like a house brand. also you can get a pypes system for like 225 and a flowmaster (like I have for about 275).

good luck but I would stay with Jegs or Summit, never ever any problems with either

Stay away from RPM Outlet. Sent me the wrong part. Never called me back, after 2 weeks finally got ahold of someone, they wanted me to pay return shipping for there mistake. Finally after once again never getting a call back I called BMR and BMR fixed the problem NOT RPM Outlet.

I read on a thread from another board that someone had purchased them and were extremely happpy with the RPM Brand which they are selling as MotoBlue. He stated that when he recieved them they had Pypes stamped on them and that they appeared to be the Violators. Here is his post:

So I am gonna share my findings

My 2006 GT was due a better sound so I decided to shop around for axel backs.

I eventually decided that RPM outlet was a potential source and I took a risk and purchased..............get this the $149 Moto Blue exhaust.

Six days later they turn up. Real nice stainless tips, decent welds on the aluminized boxes and the words Pypes etched on the tip upper face. Well I was starting to feel like this may get intresting.

I am sure these are pypes violater exhaust posing as Moto Blue's but heh what do I know they were just about the cheapest thing I ever saw and I am tight.

So they are now fitted, and it was dead easy and they sound just right. I get a slight drone at approx 3000 rpm and the clamp nut seems to work lose every few hunderde miles but it's fine and fixable at some point. Above all else combined with the $200 S and B intake kit I purchased at the same time I have a noticable performance gain.

Best $350 I ever spent the exhausts are the biggest suprise hidden gems thanks RPM outlet, Pypes and the Mustang fairy.

I hope this helps abit. And on a side note, I have ordered from RPM and had great service. They answered all my email questions promptly and shipped the same day. I should probably consider myself one of the lucky ones.

Thank you all for your help. I'll take everyone's opinion in consideration. This is what forums are all about to me.

I'll be the lone ranger here........for what it's worth, I've had nothing but great experience with RPM Outlet. Cheap prices, fast shipping. I can't believe that I'm in the minority group; maybe the old saying that satisfied customers tell only 1 person, but unsatisfied customers tell 14 people is true. That's the motto we used when I was in the retail business.

I see it this way. If you screw up my first order and dont fix it right away and give me the run around why should I give you a second chance to screw me over.

Now if RPM Outlet had apologized for the inconvience and returned my calls and emails promptly I would have been happy. I know mistakes happen. But when I have to go back to the manufactor of the part itself to get things fixed, that is just BAD customer service.

They lost there chance to make a good impression.

And your right a unsatisfied customer tells all there friends.

On the RPM tip I have posted about my CAI debacle here and there. As it stands I am still out shipping and my $100 deposit despite the fact they received the parts over a week ago. Apparently the parts department is saying I didn't send back a hose and a worm drive clamp. The kit comes with 2 (one for each end oddly) but they were the ones that didn't send a new hose and clamp kit with the replacement tube and MAF I received. I told the guy I was dealing with about it when I received the kit and how I had to go out and buy a new hose and clamp as I wasn't going to wait another 2-3 weeks just for a piece of hose. So now they want to charge me $15 out of all of the shipping and deposit because I only sent back one hose and one clamp and I told them to go take a flying ****.

Anyone familiar with this will now note that I ordered this gear on the 28th or so of May and I am still out nearly $200 cdn because of the service at RPM. I am within a handful of days of being 3 months in and still not having that ordeal finished.

So I'll just keep saying use RPM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

doh! Before a friend pointed me to this site (these forums ) I had ordered a Hurst short shifter from them. I don't have a tracking number yet and it's been almost a week. My email to their support has not gotten a response yet.

I really hope i'm not going to get the short end of the stick.. I waited for over 3 weeks with summit racing for the shifter and they never recieved a shipment and sent me one (backordered)... this place said it was in stock, was in the magazine's and someone on another site i saw ordered it from them and got it.. so i figured all good...

sucks seeing this type of stuff.

I think I'm going to start buying direct from manufactureres from now on... pay a little more but will get the part.

I was going to buy a predator and intake from them... now I think i'll just get the steeda predator and a steeda intake (instead of the C&L + predator combo)...

Do they even have a presence on the web other than a site to sell stuff? Do they cruise the domestic forums at all?

You'd probably be better off with a C&L or JLT w/ SCT Xcal2. Two of the best tuners folks around here are using are:

and
