Hey guys im new to the site but i have done some mods to my 05' and I am quite car savy. I have done the C&L intake, Magnaflow cat back, Predator tune. the combination made 297hp and 310 ftlb torque at the wheels out of the box. I run 91 octane too. No detonation unless its 95 degrees out.
The problem i am having is that the car wont rev past 6500 rpms. I have set the rev limiters to 7000 rpms on my predator and Im having this problem. Is there something in the stock computer that diablo hasnt changed???? Its not a throttle limit but feels and sounds like a fuel limiter. Has anyone else experienced this problem???? Thanks in advance.

Have you changed both rev limiter setting's? There are two, the rev limiter and the defalt rev limiter. You should adjust them both by the same incrament's. Just a thought....BTW welcome to the site!

Mine does the same thing I have it set at 7000 but 6500 and that's it, I thought I did soething wrong also but it must be the tuner not allowing it to go past 6500, I have read that some people have gotten to 7000 but I don't remember which tuner they used.

Is yours a C&L branded unit by any chance? There are some differences, I've got an out of the box Predator with Diablo's tunes on it, and I've modified the 91 Octane tune and removed the rev-limiter and the speed control and both work

I have the most current versions of everything and I have a Ford Predator unit not C&L or Steeda. So im lost. My power curve is flat to 6500 but I want it to rev past when I shift so that Im not hitting a brick wall every time I go to shift. Like when I am racing hard on the street I dont have a chance to look at the tach and It feels like the car will pull higher revs and I always hit the limiter just before I want to shift.

To each his own. However, most have found for street use 6500 RPM to be plenty. I don't believe from the dyno results I have seen that there is any HP or TQ gains to be had above 6500 RPM.
The only reason I am aware of to change the RPM rev limit is so you don't have to shift into a higher gear late in the 1/4 mile.
Others with opinions please chime in if I am wrong.

The gains from the extra 500 rpm are not worth the possibility of your motor swallowing a valve due to valve float...
I might put it at 6700 to allow a safe shift at 6500 without bumping the limiter, but 7000 sounds too high to me.

I love my SCT...anywho, I have my Rev limiter's set at 7G. I launch at 6G, powershift at 6400 and have plenty of room for the powershift (never taking the foot off the gas). I don't know how the Diablo is that much more user friendly. I have the tune installed in the car and leave it alone. I will be getting the XCal II this week and a program that'll allow me to tune the car myself, thus, bypassing the tuner/dyno.

well I sent my current tune to someone over at Diablo and they fixed whatever was wrong and sent it back to me in an email. Now the limit was raised to 7000 and I really like that. But hopefully they will figure out why some of the tunes arent taking to these cars.
