What good are they doing there, sposed to be on your motor.
You should see the pile of parts sitting here in my cube. This should be an interesting new thread.

I got on a trip a ave of 26 or so mpg under 70, around 80 it was around 23-24 mpg. I agree with above....hard to get good milage with the need to play with it at every red light.

To get 325 RWHP, follow the mods on my list below... then add LT headers like I plan to. I am running at almost 315 RWHP right now. Once I get some LT's, I should have 325 on a cool day. My goal is to have 350 RWHP n/a. In the future, I'll either get heads or cams to bring me up and possibly over the 350 mark. Then I can tell people the real reason I have GT"350" on my car.

Most of the posts I've read that say the CMP delete is crap didn't have a quality tune. 5.0 Mustang & Super Ford site has a tech article on the CMRC delete kit from PHP. They specifically say you will lose HP if you get a tuner who doesn't know his stuff. The article's posting of power and torque show an increase in both across the RPM range. I meant to imply that if you get your heads done, get the CMP(CMRC) delete done at the same time. No need for 'flappers' near a ported head. The vehicle also had JBA headers and exhaust along with underdrive pulleys....which I'm not too high on.
Don't CMP assist with low end tourqe since the GT has VVT? From my understanding it restricts one intake port until a certain RPM and then it opens up the second intake port. So, it seems like the plate delete would hurt low end torque.

Unless you have a blower or a highly modded N/A, I don't see the point in this mod.

Seems like it would but the 5.0 mustang site has a real world application with dyno sheets. I wouldn't have believed the results and they were surprised....Just the facts! Check out the article.

I had a Modified 302 in the 80's but the talk was more Holley Carbs and Edelbrock manifolds with headers.
We're showing our age, King Cobra!
I had a 85 GT, Comp Cams Magnum 280, Holley 650CFM Double Pump mounted on an Edelbrock Performer manifold! Ahhh... those were the days.

Wow; with a Tune, CAI, X-Pipe, a throttle body spacer and pullies you are getting 325 rwhp. I saw some one had a similar set up (without the pullies and spacer) and got 299 rwhp.

I did not think those two extra items got alot. But maybe it was the dyno shop and location. Iknow that is a big factor too. I can

I said I was getting almost 315HP (312) and would hopefully get 325 with LT headers. I can tell you that a good tune does wonders. And I've seen a few guys with similar mods to me getting 310-315. 299 seems a little low.

Edit: Pullies, the TB spacer and a better tune will easily get 10... maybe 15 HP.

IMO if you want to do a few limited things then the CAI and tune is the best return on investment. Just the improvement in responsiveness is worth it. Of course, once you start down this road.........

Hey Mike, how's ypur new ride? Can't wait to see it in person. Mine should be here within a few weeks. For power, I read in a past issue of Mustang Monthly, they tested the Steeda CAI, and Steeda based tune from a XCAL2. The car stock had 260 rwhp and 277 rwtorque. After the tune, the hp went up to 276 and torque 295 lb ft. It doesn't sound like alot, but the low end torque @ 1,500 rpm's jumped from 175 lb-ft to 242!! This is power you can use AND feel every day. This is a great upgrade for the car. BTW, I checked out the site for the Northeast Cruisers. Sounds pretty cool. I'll definitely bring my car down to their shows @ the Burger King and Nifty 50's.
