Question about raising the Rev Limiter
I noticed a lot of people have used their tuner to increase their Rev limiter to ~6500rpm. Is a stock engine okay reving that high? Also, has anyone done a dyno run past 6000rpm to see what happens to the power band?
Thanks
Thanks
most people put it at 6500 for power shifting or superchargers make power that high .In stock form the car will stop making power at around 5500 or so.
Mine makes power till 5600 and slowly falling off only a few hp.

Mine rev lim is set at 7000. I powershift at 6400, due to my dyno curve dropping off at 6500 rpm. These cars like rpm's.

I set mine at 7000 so I don't run into the limiter as easy at around 6250-6500 while manually shifting my auto.

I currently have mine set at 7000 making well over 500hp and I regularly run it up there... no problems yet...... yet...

I set mine at 6500, but if you guys are running em up to 7 grand on boost, well the rest of us have nothing to worry about. And that says a lot about this engine. She is a lot tougher than everyone predicted. (5psi will kill it......if you rev over 5000 boosted you will break the ring lands..........the block will never take it) I'm glad you guys are proving them wrong.
