Larry,
You seem to be in this endless exhaust sound spiral with the rest of us. Are you liking it with the GTA's??

The headers & mid-mufflers(straight-thru) was a bit much for my tastes. It's been 25yrs or better since I've had a Mustang with headers & cherry bombs, I'd forgotten how loud they can be
Prior to installing the headers & getting rid of the cats, I loved it,nice rumble.Little Nascar-ish,but not bad at all. I loved the 'burble' you get when slowing.
After driving for a week after the headers,I decided to re-install the GTA's. I almost felt like I was driving a Harley, too harsh & to loud for me.
I guess I don't need a hearing aid yet

The GTA's + OBX do sound nice,I'm really suprised how quiet it is now. Opened up is great. Idle & below 2000,no louder than yours is now.

I'll probably try the straight-thru H next. Close now

Wow, this clips sound wild. I am going to have to check into some of these setups when my Stang isn't my everyday driver.

I'm thinking we need to make one of those H-pipes into a Prochamber box for you. It won't get any louder but the tone will be lowered.

Well Larry knows what I mean. I am a toolmaker so it would be totally custom built. I have the Mac Prochamber on my car to copy from. Sorry. No one sells what I want to do.

Heres another rate the sound. Lets put the stock exhaust system with GTA's a 5 in loudness. Hows the OBX L/Ts off road H sound with GTA's?

IDLE:
CRUISING:
WOT:

I do imagine its louder then just the stock system. You also require a tune correct? To fix a few codes and delay the second sensor correct? Do you feel any extra power gains? Or just mere sound.

Long tubes will definitely give you power. You will need a tune though.

I will definitely second that...punching it anytime in the powerband feels great now- not to mention in 2nd and 3rd at 3500+ the car is a whole new animal!

Right after I took my friend for a ride he said, "i still feel like im stuck in your seat"

IMO;
Idle 6
Cruise 6
WOT 8
I used the H with resonators that come with the headers, I should have used the straight-thru H. That will most likely be my next project. It is actually quite tame until you open it up.
The L/T's added a noticable increase in seat-of pants power, won't get it on the dyno until this coming spring.
I had my tune reworked by Brenspeed, needed for L/T's.
The rear O2 sensors are eliminated.

So I can imagine straight through H pipes will deff add some additude in the idle/cruise section. I'm looking for a mean sound. But want to stick with the GTA's for the no drone. Soon as tax returns come in, I'll deff jump on a set of OBX LT's and straight through H pipe.
