Pypes Mid-muffler system installed!

Got it from Brenspeed.com - as always excellent service. It was at my door 36 hours after I placed the order. I installed it in the garage using jackstands and ramps, but I had my local service shop tweak the pipes and clamps for me. Here are some pics of the exhaust installed. I'm gonna get some video but you really need to hear it under throttle between 3 and 6 K! Music from the gods!

Looks like your local shop did a good job aligning.I tweaked on mine on & off for 2wks before I got it where I was satisfied. Good tone, I really enjoy the sound when shifting. Installing L/T's & O/R H this weekend,we'll see how loud it is then!

I'll get a sound clip tomorrow. I'm already looking into headers and an offroad H-pipe. She sounds awesome but I could stand a bit more raucousness!

What all is involved in the 'tweaking' of this system? I've been extremely interested in this setup, but the fitment issues worry me.

You can get your hand up and around the mufflers and the tank has a thick plastic shield between it and the exhaust. The mufflers are a straight through design so they dont get very hot.

05GT - The system fit together just fine, but since there are so many pieces if you have one off just a little, the next one will be off more, etc. I basically removed the old parts, installed the new ones and clamped them together and took it in. He loosened all the clamps, rotated some of the pieces, moved the drivers side "tail pipe" out and tightened down the clamps. Plenty of clearance now.

I'll be installing my L/T's on Saturday,I'll post some vids after the install. Probably be a little too loud for me then, still have my factory over-axle pipes & GTA's in case.

So are you going to be keepin the pypes system on with the LTs and H? I assume you will be cutting the pypes system to fit with the longtubes and h.

Hey Larry,
I don't think I have ever seen anyone else that was running LT's and the Pypes system. You may be the first! We will take a before and after vid so everyone can see the difference. I am predicting very mean sounding and very loud!!! You may have neighbor issues though.

Shoot, with you two old farts doing the install, the volume may be just about perfect...... you know, that way you won't have to wear your hearing aids.

Tom,
With my hearing loss after 30yrs of working around aircraft, you may be right
Actually, the Pypes mid-muffler setup is about loud enough for me now.Am sure it'll be quite a step up with the L/T's & no cats.

officespace,
I'll be running the L/T's with the Pypes system,if it's too loud for me, I'll reinstall the GTA's I had on previously. And the L/T's I have will be a direct bolt-up to the mid-muffler system,as they come with a straight H & an H with resonators.

Scott,
We will have to make sure we get the vids & post up here.
