I have a 2006 Mustang GT with MTX, JLT CAI and a SCT custom tune. The car was running great until I reflashed the computer to the NORMAL custom tune. (The car was previously running great on the FUEL ECONOMY custom tune). When the car was idling, it would idle around 500 RPM vs. the normal 750 RPM and would sometimes stall and wouldn't restart right away. I then reflashed back to the FUEL ECONOMY custom tune and the low RPM idle and stalling continued. I then reflashed to the stock tune and then back to the FUEL ECONOMY tune and the same thing happens.

Do you think I have to wait a few days for the computer to relearn my driving style again?

Sometimes when low idling, it would fluctuate between 500 and 750 RPM's.

Also, come to think of it, when I reinstalled my air filter (after cleaning it) I think I might of cracked the plastic pipe when trying to remove the rubber tube from it. Would a little crack cause my problem?

only if your smoking it j/k

if the crack is between the mass air and the t body yes it can cause a problem

I bought the JLT II CAI/SCT II with custom tunes as a package deal from JLT.

When you reflash enter a higher idle speed. With the tune file I have I thought my idle was too high so I just did the opposite, entered a lower idle RPM.

I have an SCT II as well and sometimes my car idles down to 500 and bounces back up to 750. If it's going to happen it would only occur when I'm coming to a stop and the clutch is fully depressed. Car doesn't stall though but starts to have a little shake when the RPMs bounce off 500 rpm. Have no idea why it happens since I haven't yet been able to find a common denomitor to the problem, just seems to be at random

How do you do that? Mine came w/ 3 tunes preloaded into it. How do I take one of those tunes and modify it? I don't have any computer software for it.

Mine seems to happen more often during cooler weather. I never had the problem w/ the same tune in Florida, but in Ohio it happens all the time. I'm thinking that the cooler, more dense air is messing up some sensor somewhere. (?)

My Xcal2 allows me to alter quite a few parameters, one being idle speed. Maybe you have older tune files that don't allow changes on the hand-held. Call your tuner and get updates (free). I have my idle set at 800 and that seems about perfect.

Guys real simple.
You need to Disconect the battery for about 5 min. then Hook back up.This should take care of that.

I just tried that and it didn't work. I'm thinking of installing the original airbox and changing the tune back to stock just to see if the problem is with the custom tune or the JLT CAI.

Does anyone know of a dependable fast tune for 2006 Saleen SC at 91% octane out here in very green California? This would be assuming injector, pully, and airbox change outs of course.
Could anyone mention what rear wheel horses you've heard from the different Saleen SC tunes, psi's, pulleys, octane levels. Saleen is finally releasing some aggressive flash tunes in a month or so I've heard, so I want as much comparison info as possible. Thank you, Erik

Yup, I had my batt disconnected for 2 months over the Winter. Fired it up in the Spring and it did it the first day.

Forget Saleen's canned tunes...

Contact Adam at ST Motorsports in San Bernardino... and tell him I sent you. He has tuned many 05/06's with the Saleen blower already. I have seen many guys in the 440-450rwhp range on 8psi, and 460-470+ on 10psi (manual trannys... autos a little lower).

I reinstalled the stock airbox and retuned the computer back to stock and I am still having similar problems...when coming to a stop sign/light, when I depress the clutch, it would idle down to around 500 rpms and when completely stopped, it would idle around 750 rpms. It would stall when putting it in reverse and trying to park, mostly. And when I tried to restart, it would just die.

My friend had a suggestion that it could be a bad MAF sensor. The same thing happened to his Ford Ranger. Any comments?

the reason is the computer need to be reflased with a tune that has the "adaptive" set to off then start the car for a minute so it clears the adaptive memory. The turn off & reflash with tune set to adaptive on. If you just reload tune on top of tune your car does try to relearn but it's using tables from the other tune and that's not what you want. Some cars will re learn faster than others and be ok some won't due to the amount of correction that is relearned won't be enough for best performance.

Anyone think the problem lies with how fast the RPM's drop? I know that can be controlled through the tune/program written. Maybe?

Fixed!!!

I removed the JLT CAI and tuned the car back to stock (same problem still happening) and took it to a Ford Service Center. I told them about the problem and suggested to them to check the computer. They reloaded the stock tune and everything's back to normal!

I'm kind of scared to try the canned tune again with the JLT CAI. It should work since it's back to stock now. Any comments?
