Pro 5.0 Shifter versus?
So I drove my buddies mustang today after he installed a PRO 5.0 Short throw shifter. Wow, what sweet shifts... As I will probally buy this one as I really liked it, can anyone tell if there is a mjor difference between any other brands? I see alot of people talking about MGW and Hurst. ANy help would be appreciated.

Don't mean to sound rude, but search the forums....... there is TONS of info here about both shifters, including a couple of threads specifically about the Pro50 and MGW head-to-head.

I have the Pro 5.0 and I like it alot, a little hard to get into 5th and Reverve but that should get easier the more I use it. The new Hurst Billet Shifter looks like it is well made.

I have the MGW and love it..build quality is really unreal, thing looks like it was built for a jet..before you buy have a look at them..customer service was really good as well and made for a great buying experience..fully adjustable in throw and **** height as well

searched, and found these:

Keep in mind as you're reading that the Pro50 and Steeda Triax are very, very similar.... so comments about the Steeda can/will apply towards the Pro50 too.

You will find that when it comes to shifters it's pretty subjective. People love their Hurst's, Pro5.0's and the MGW. I personally have the Pro5.0 and like it, but if I was going to buy a shifter "now" it would probably be the MGW.

From personal experience (I've had a hurst, and driven s197's with a couple different shifters) and research I've found it to be the most competent shifter available in every single area, engineering, fitment, feel, adjustability, ease of powershifting.

OK, no problem. It is fully adjustable...that means throw length, any **** height (it slides and clamps in place), any **** position within the bezel, it has torsion mounts at both ends of the remote beam instead of a rigid mounted beam which can cause binding while shifting at high rpm's above 5500, it comes with foam insulation, rubber insulation, dynamat insulation, shift mechanism has upper and lower rubber dust boots. It has a patented noise absorbing shift handle. These are just the features that NO OTHER shifter offers. I had a Steeda Triax which the Pro50 is a copy of. It's long gone. I wouldn't own anything but the MGW and either would all of the guys I've installed them for.
