Possibly going from ProCharger to KB, will I be happy?
This morning I found myself in a good position to swap out my ProCharger for a Kenne Bell. The owner of the KB wants to go for more speed/power because he's got a built motor. The ProCharger is perfect for him as I've put down over 440 rwhp @ 9psi. The KB is great for me because I want the low-end power as I daily drive my Mustang.
I'll be weighing the pros and cons before I make a decision, but what do you guys think? Will I be happy or will I miss the ProCharger?
Thanks!
Kris

Basically I'm in the same dilemma except Im choosing between a Novi2200 and a Whipple. Wait for Anthony05GT (I think thats his SN) to chime in, he has had both a Procharger and a Whipple and will be more than happy to share experiences.
Honestly, building/racing fast cars is a hobby that does not exactly allow happiness or satisfaction Chances are, no matter what you get you are always going to be looking for more. So ultimately you are going to have to either set performance goals and stick to them, or completely explain your definition of 'happy' as stated in the title.
With that said, I think the KB is going to FEEL quite a bit faster because of the Gobs of power present right off idle. So sure it will be fun, as long as you can get the power to the ground effectively.

Thanks guys and thanks Anthony for the insight in the other thread!
I forgot to mention that I also own an '03 Lightning that's pushing 14psi....I LOVE how that thing pulls and sounds...so I think the KB on the Stang would be right there with it, but in a lighter, nimbler package.

Kris- I LOVE my Kenne Bell! I say go for it-- especially if you are looking for that lower rpm power. I know I'm biased, and I have NOT driven a car with a centri SC.
No regrets here!

To sum up my experience between the Procharger and the Whipple twin screw I'd say if you don't want to have to rev it to feel the boost, you'll dig the twin screw. You'll miss the Procharger some, but you'll love the KB too. It's kind of like the other kid, you love them both. But seriously, you sound like a street kind of guy...you'll be happy.

I'll never forget the pull in 5th gear going up the mountains past Denver at close to 8000ft altitude, I was still seeing 7 psi of boost...the obnoxsiously? loud cammed z-28 was suffocating...and eventually died...(vanished)...that was too easy...what a vacation that was...
YES you will be happy!!!

For a daily driver a twin screw is great. Boost only when you want it. Boost comes on instantly. Lots of low end torque......
A centri is capable of making more boost and therefore more power, but boost kicks in higher in the rpm range. It's lighter. It's blow thru as opposed to draw thu so you don't need to upgrade the tb. Probably a better setup for the track.
