Possible problem with UDP's?

Does anyone know if UDP's could possibly cause your alternator to slow down and your battery to die while your on the road.

More likely a defective alternator.

My dealer's service department said UDP's will void my engine warranty. I have any extensive automotive background and don't see how UDP's could possibly have a negative effect on the engine's internal components. I have seen another post saying that their oil pump failed and Ford would not warranty the repairs due to UDP's on the car.

Rather than arguing about it, I'll just wait until I hit the 36k and then do the UDP's.

This happened to me while driving on the road at about 20,000 miles. Dealer replaced alternator on warranty-no charge. UDP's were put on at about 14,000 miles. I now have 37,000 miles and no problems since the fix.

They also never mentioned a thing about the UDP's causing it.

My altenator went bad at 3,000 MILES! Replaced with no hassle. And unless you tell them I bet most wouldnt even notice the UDP's.

Thanks a lot guys. I think I will make these my next mod since I can't seem to find a good throttle body provider anywhere.

Isn't the power train warranted for 5 years 60,000 miles?

FYI, there is a TSB out there concerning alternators.

As far as UDP's causing failures. I do think it's possible in the long run, but not likely. I choose not to due to where I live. I can pick up those few ponies elsewhere. It's a personal peference for me.

I know plenty of people who have had them in the past that live here with no troubles. I also know the same amount of people who have had issues with them, or so they thought.

The new warranty is in effect from the day Ford announced it, and not before it for those who bought their cars sooner, on all 2006 and 2007. The only difference between the years, is that for the '06 vehicles, its an extended service plan, with a $100 deductible, while on the 2007's its an actual warranty, with NO deductible. Hope this helps.
