PI 3200 stall?

Where is everyone getting their PI stalls from? Straight PI or somewhere else? What do they cost for the lockup converters from them? Is PI pretty much the standard that most people are going with? I heard that some people didn't like the TCI stall. So are there any other options besides PI that you guys would go with?

How hard is the install on these? I was just under the car yesterday putting on longtubes and there is plenty of room under there so I would guess the transmission would come out pretty easy. I just worry about getting it filled back up correctly.

I have the Level 10 billett torque converter. It is expensive at 1100.
PI makes a nice one though, cant go wrong there.
I would not use a TCI converter it is a OEM converter with some changes in the impeller angles.

I just got my single clutch PI 3000 stall converter put in by ST Motorsports last tuesday. They ordered directly from PI, $695 for the converter and like $35 for shipping. I did the research and installing the converter is pretty straightforward, but I went with the ST Motorsports install cause I just don't have the equipment to make it as smooth as it seemed on paper... especially with the ATF. During the install, he lost about 2-3 quarts. I didn't see what special gizmo (if any) he used to refill.

Side note: ST Motorsports rocks . Can't wait to see how this does in Fontana end of the month.

Is the single what most people are using over the multidisk? I assume that with mostly just bolt-ons the single would be fine? 695.00 is right at the top of what I was looking to spend so I may just have to go with it. Thanks.

Yeah it is $695 for the single disk. If you are going to go FI in the near future, you should go with the multi clutch one. A bit more money, $900ish, but worth it. Sadly, I am going to be staying N/A for a while. Even if I go FI, I will have to stay pretty conservative cause I would barely have enough money to do the job right barring anything breaking so the single clutch should do me just fine. Good luck with your purchase. Adam at ST Motorsports and Dyno Joe both sell both PI converters FYI.
