Performance Windage tray

Anyone install a Performance Windage tray in the oil pan? Ford Racing and others companies claim up to 12 HP with this mod...

A 12 hp gain with an engine that didn't have a windage tray yes that is possible but the S197 GT engine has a windage tray from the factory as do some other Ford engines. It is possible that some of the aftermarket windage trays are a little better than the Ford one but better enough to produce a 12 hp gain, no Sir. Save your money and skinned knuckles for something else.

+1, there is a stock unit in place and I highly doubt an aftermarket version will be that much better. I'd save the cash for something else.

If you are already going to have the stock pan down or the K-member off for another reason, I would be tempted to change it. Other than that, money better spent somewhere else.

I agree with everyone. I swapped out for the canton and it is a nice piece, but if I hadn't already been putting in the eliminator oil pan, I wouldn't have done it. I agree - if you're in there already, it's a nice cheap mod and why not?

Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere IMO.

BTW: The gains and numbers you here about windage trays are usually referring to pushrods without them.

For us anyway. Great mod for the money for pushrods.
