Looks incredible friend, way to go . Painting them makes those wheels 10X better looking. Now, I wonder who will be the first to paint a set of Bullitt wheels. I am really curious to see someone paint them in a dark grey color. Again congrats and great job. You do have a set of stones to attempt that

Paul, Saw your avatar on AAS this morning and wondered if you got new wheels. Then I just came across this thread. You are a brave man... but it came out awesome. Looks mean and more money to put toward other mods. Since we both live in south Austin I won't copy ya, I promise. I was already looking at some black wheels... this just confirms how good it looks. Way to go!
I don't care if you paint your wheels black too! Heck, save some $$$$ and use it towards something else. You can always buy aftermarket black wheels if you don't like the outcome. I'll even come help you do it, since I have the experience now. To me, this stuff is fun! Shoot me an email. paul@holeshotfilms.com

Thanks for all the cool comments guys!

Overall, great job with your car.

ok, I just got through taking more pics for those who requested. I put the 05' next to my Texas stang, so it was kinda cool.

I order my 06 with the stock rims, did not want to wait for the chrome versions. I want to do the same thing...little worried to try it.

Topic revival:

This is what I'm gonna do this weekend!
I've been contemplating the idea of black rims on my black GT, but the Bullits just don't do it for me, and the FR500s are way too pricey for me (including shipping over the pond). This however, is by far the coolest wheel mod I've seen so far and I just kick myself in the head for not seeing it sooner!
I'm off to the store to buy the paint, sandpaper and tape! I'll post pics once I'm done.

Edit (later that day): I went to a few wheel/paint shops around town, the black wheel paint is impossible to come across so far...
You'd never guess what's the latest craze around here for ricer wheels: gold paint! Well... "keep searchin', Morrocco!"

Good Luck Louie! Take your time and expect to spend a good afternoon working on this. I still have NO problems with my paint and it looks like I painted my wheels yesterday. I bet your car is a MAJOR head turner over there! Pics when done! -FROG-
