I received the same " lack of response" from 2 pm's to CR at Tillman Speed. He is the one that started this thread. He should at least have the testicular fortitude to respond. Perhaps I am the only C&L owner that was interested in this heat shield.

I've responded to probably 10 PM's just this week about it. Every time we've gotten a prototype done, the fitment has been off, or the production costs would be ridiculous for a short run.

We're trying to work it out as fast as possible because we know they're being expected. At the same time I can't let it consume our business over a shield we'll ultimately sell 10 of and be done with. It may never happen, it also could happen next week. We're working on it, and when it fits, and doesn't cost a fortune, we'll go from there. Nobody wants to spend 120 dollars on a heatshield for cosmetics. The intricacy of the C&L heat shield calls for so many bends, and is impossible to keep from rattling with the lines up front.

After all of the testing I've found actually the roto-molded plastic shield from C&L is of more complication that one would think by looking at it.

I think you will sell more than 10 unless a lot of people waiting on it get frustrated and lose interest.

Cr,
Thanks for just giving an honest answer. If the C & L heat shield never happens because of the reasons you stated than I can live with that. It would be nice though if from time to time you would get us an update. There are some of us still interested in this shield,

We're trying here, fellas. I know we want one ourselves! It would be a great selling tool for point of purchase with C&L. On top of that, the fitment of the whole system would improve greatly.

This shield does have a rubber seal around where the filter housing sits which creates a snug seal there which is a plus.

I ordered this JLT heat shield and tried to install and the one you sent me does not allow the hood to close. It sits too high. It looks good...but its too high.

I want to see this thing when it gets back. So far haven't had any problems with them. Maybe the punch-break just bent one to the wrong measurements?

If you're looking for the "C" series, as far as I know, it was never released. If anyone knows differently, please advise.

that looks no different than my current plastic "heat shield". If those things block heat, I'll buy you a leer jet. These CAI are not cold air intakes. Unless you are totally blocked off from the engine bay and go under the car or through the fender to get OUTSIDE air, these things are just bigger MAS tubes. Period.

I did and it fit fine for me. No loging of temps or anything like that. The plastic one from JLT is in a box in the garage. I am planing on feeding the lower opening with cool air from the lower gril sometime in the fall. Way too hot in the garage right now.
