Hmm...without being there and seeing what going on it's hard to say. If the studs are back in to 80% of the original depth I'd say you will be fine. Anything less than I would try to remove them and run a tap in the threads to clean them out. Using antisieze on steel studs in an aluminum head is also a good idea. It also acts as a lubricant when installing them again.
i was thinking of trying to pull the bad ones out AGAIN and running some antiseize and then loctite them in. why cant things just go smooth for me

Do not loctite them in!!!!!!! There is not reason to do that and if you ever need to get one back out depending on what type you use it may be impossible to do so. Besides the loctite will not work if you antiseize them also. Just use antiseize only. And try not to get to discouraged.

i am just somewhat frustrated, but i knew it wasn't going to be easy. i just pray it doesn't leak. depending on how this goes once finished i may try cams next

I had between 1/8 & 1/4" I had to remove with the dremel on the bellhousing. Took maybe 5-10min.

Don't forget to trim down 2 of those studs, last 2 uppers on the drivers side. Otherwise, you'll not get them in. The Stage 8 locking bolts are extra insurance, but the locking clips were a PITA.
You'll only have to retighten the bolts once, after a heat up & cool down. Mine have been on a year now & I've not had any loosen up. I have checked a few times.
I'd also not recommend the cam install, especially after watching it done

The cam install idea is still up in the air.

Well, the long tubes are in. Got it all bolted up except for the steeda mufflers. I drove it to work tonight with the o/r h and holy crap was it LOUD. So far i hear no leaks, but it may be hard to say since it is deafening. What would be the best way to check?

When the car was cold I actually started the car and got under it and put my hand around the slip joint feeling for leaks. You can do the same along the heads. You got to be quick. Things get hot in a hurry!! And I take it you got you O2 entensions figured out?

so far no leaks i think except for where one of the supposed to be circular band clamps hold on the h pipe. i need to check the headers by hand, but i have not noticed anything yet.

i do have one issue. there seems to be a strong vibration on the passengers side where the h pipe and LTs connect possibly. i will look into it further tomorrow, but i remember going over everything and there not being any contact.

also, i did not shave anything off and do not seem to have any other friction points.

edit: as far as the 02 extensions go, i just cut the guide wing things off and clicked it in. no issues yet although my friend accidentally hooked up the front o2 sensor to the rear instead of the extension and it started frying, but i noticed as soon as i started the car and found the problem and fixed it. no issues since.

Check where the midpipes hang from the tunnel brace. There's some know issues of the hangers rubbing on the brace. Newer Mustangs don't have the hangers in this spot. My '07 has them there, I was lucky and didn't have an issue, though I can see where it would be a problem. Some guts have had to cut the tip off that particular hanger so it doesn't rub.

yea. i am actually starting to worry about the leak. it is pretty bad and i only hope it is because of the terrible band clamps and not the headers. im not sure why i have had such a hard time with this install.
