- Block is bored & honed oversize with torque plates, main bores are line honed and the block is detailed inside and out. Forged steel crankshaft is modified to enhance oil flow, and electronically balanced. Manley H Beam forged rods and JE pistons with Steel backed moly rings are fitted. FM race bearings are used and ARP main studs hold the main caps in place. Shortblock is ideal for supercharged or nitrous use up to 500HP.

$4695 Outright
$3495 Exchange

It sounds expensive, but if you are planning on a high boost supercharged car or high hp nitrous kit it may be the way to go. The forged internals will definately help. It is also quite a bit cheaper than the Ford alternative. Their 5.0 cammer engine with forged internals is $14,995.

Uhh, yeah, but that 14,995 includes the 6 speed manual trans and installation.

Are you asking about the SHM motor ? If so, he build great motors, I am sure others can agree to that

Yeah that's where I found it. After pricing all the parts that go into the engine I didn't think that it is too bad of a price. Especially since I will be going with a KB when they put it on the market. I just figured that I will have to build up the bottom end sooner or later. IMO it is better to have a good one to exchange for the new one than to wait to see where the OEM on pops.

Actually if you go to the Ford site and check out the 5.0 camer, it only includes the engine build up. No transmission or installation, though there is one there - the 4v DOHC cobra engine that does include the transmission with it but it is nowhere near that expensive.
Keep looking at that cammer, would be great to have it in the mustang at 400+ NA but that price is wayyy out of my range ... maybe ...
