Midpipe hangers/08 models

I have noticed that the Bullitt model does not have midpipe hangers that mount to trans. crossmember...do all "08 models have this now? Im guessing less NVH..taking weight of exhaust and vibes off tranny mount. Are they hung somewhere else?

My 08 has the rubber mounts on the trans crossmember, but the H-pipe does NOT have the hangers.

Thats what i mean...wonder whats up with that. It seems like alot of weight going unsupported...I mean its only attached at stock manifolds...and at mufflers. Is that all thats holding up the 08 models?

Are you talking about the hangers up by the cats? That is interesting the newer models don't have those.

consider yourselves lucky you don't have them.... it will cut down on the buzzing sound that those hangers can sometimes produce. (in the dash/radio console).

muscle mustang mag. did an exhaust project a couple issues ago. and did'nt use the hangers, and said it was so ridgly mounted that it was a none issue.

used a dremel w/ cutting tool and removed mine(hangers), no more middle dash noise

Yes...the ones that are welded to stock h-pipe and go into rubber mount on trans. mount. I bet they did it to lose some vibes or noise transmitted to car..

My 08 GT/CS has the 2 mounts on the tranny crossover and the stock h-pipe was using them. I just installed an off road h-pipe, reused the mounts, and noticed more interior noise/vibe that is probaly caused from those. It also made it a PITA to install the aftermarket h-pipe.

Thoes hangers are only required for assembly at the plant. They do tend to transmit vibration to the center console and floor board.

Glad to find this - I have an aftermarket mid-pipe and was wondering about the lack of hangers on it. Sounds like I'm better off without them!
