I just got my kit in. It has some general install instructions with it that are somewhat easy to follow. They are not specific to this car but they will help out.

Got mine on Friday, installed on Sat. no problems, mechanical install was easy. Picked up a shorter belt to go with my UDP. Electrical was just a little more work, I did not want to use any kind of a fuse tap so I took the fuse and relay box that was under the hood apart, removed the terminal that I wanted to tap into, soldered my relay trigger wire into it and put everythig back together. The whole project was about 3 hours but I wasted some time reviewing the wiring diagrams to decide where I wanted to tap into for the relay.

Pump appears to work well and made it real easy to fill the cooling system after install.

I just need to decide now if I want to wire in a switch to allow for the operation of the pump and fan without running to car for cool down purposes.

If you drag race at all, I would highly recommend it!! I tested mine at the track this past weekend, and it worked awesome!

Ohh, I have $350. I can get either gears or this. I will go with the gears. But I will start saving for a pump.

Yea I will probably go to the strip to see what the car will do. I havn't been to the strip since 87. Probably forgot how to drive! Used to go to the strip all the time.
Then I spent 15 years going in circles.

Nope. I have a local guy that has been recommended by the local mustang group. He will buy and install a set for $350. He has done gears for a lot of guys on that forum and everyone has been happy.

Is an electric pump very helpful or is it pointless if you don't go to the track *much*? I wouldn mind gettin 5-10rwhp for normal driving use for 305.

what are the downsides (cons)?

is a different sized belt really necessary with UD pullies? I have steeda ones and i don't see why a new belt is needed if the unloaded pully on the electric pump is the same size as stock...?

It's more costly to replace again when it fails and your local parts store probably won't have one in stock. Keep the original setup handy to minimize downtime. Maybe consider keeping it in the car on those long trips out of state especially after putting some miles on it.

Yes, the unloaded pulley on the ePump is the same size as stock but the UD water pump pully is larger than stock (to match the smaller UD crank pulley).

If you put a stock size water pump pulley on with the UD crank pulley, your belt will fall off!

This statment kinda makes me nervous. Should there be a concern about it failing more than the stock pump?

Not IMO. The Mezieres have been around for years with an excellent history of durability. From what I hear, they are rated for 3,000 hours. At an average of 40mph, that would be 120K miles.

Brent has MAC Long Tubes, my wife got me a set from him for Christmas. They have a nice coating and nice flanges on them. Plus they sound freaking awsome and I am pretty sure that my butt-o-meter feels performance.

I would think the mechanical water pump is more reliable than the electric water pump. So long as it turns, it works right?
