Well, I finally finished installing the MAC off-road Pro Chamber and let me tell you, it ROCKS! It produces an incredibly deep, aggressive, and mean growl! Before the install I was just running Bassani SS axle-back exhaust, which sounded good but a little too quiet. It is at least twice as loud and mean now after the chamber was slapped on. The install wasn't bad at all. The hardest part was removing the bolts that meet at the stock headers because the cats were in the way. I put the two front wheels on ramps and placed two jack stands in the rear. There's two clamps at the h-pipe that I had to loosen, by removing two nuts per side. There's two bolts per side at the headers. I had to use a long extension to get at one of the bolts on each side. I just unscrewed the 02 sensors. At the h-pipe there's a clip on each clamp that you just lift up a little and then you're good to go. It's just one solid piece. Putting the chamber on was a lot easier because the cats weren't in the way anymore so the bolts were easy to get at. It came with two clamps that were easy to put on. I installed MILs too, which you just had to plug in between the 02 sensors. REALLY easy.

I bought the pro chamber based on how my friend's 03 GT sounded paired with Bassani and an off-road pro chamber. It has a great rumble, and might I add absolutely no raspy sound at all, which I hate. I haven't been able to drive it around because I still have storage insurance, so I'm sure it will get even louder under load. I would highly recommend this product. I ordered through Ninosport, which has by far the best service. I've heard this setup with Borla, which sounds good too but I haven't heard it with anything else. Removing the cats is what gives it the crazy sound. I looked inside those and couldn't believe how air even gets through. Like I said, look for at least twice the rumble. It's not too crazy though at idle, but when you rev I can't even explain. I'm going to try and get some sound clips up, but not really sure how to. Can I upload them on this website?

I had a MAC off-road Prochamber paired with Flowmasters. It was very loud, but it was really raspy. Must be the difference between Bassani and the Flows.

p.s. Wait till you drive it and right around 2500 rpms you get a pleasant little surpise.

It sounds just like my friend's 03 GT, but maybe a little more rumble. I would have to compare side by side to see the real difference. Overall, it sounds great.

@Holeshot

I remember reading about you having the prochamber. It must be the difference in mufflers like you said. What happens at 2500 rpms? Is that when you get the gurgle sound of the gases mixing in the chamber? Is it a lot louder when you drive it?

Yes, you are probably right. With the Flows it sounded pretty raspy and high pitched...almost exotic, but it was really loud, which I liked! About what happens at 2500 rpms is you will find it makes the dreaded "trumpet" sound. Most people dont really notice it, but for those who do its really annoying. It also depends on the muffler too, because it didnt do it with the stock ones hardly at all.

I was running with the MAC o/r Prochamber and stock mufflers and it sounded pretty good, a lot deeper, but not as loud.

Overall, I liked the Prochamber because it had sort of a "long tube header" sound, which was pretty mean sounding. My only complaint was the freakin "trumpet" sound. I am a diehard Flowmaster guy and I switched to the brenspeed o/r h-pipe and the Flows made the same sound, but they were REALLY loud!!
Now I am running the o/r h-pipe with the stock mufflers, and I am liking it a lot. Until they come up with a solution to that trumpet I will stick with this setup.

Hope that helps!! I think you should stick with the Prochamber though.....I really liked mine, but now its just sitting in my barn collecting dust.

Can't wait to hear what it sounds like. I have the Bassani axle-back also and was thinking of getting an x pipe. I will wait to hear yours before making a final decision.

I haven't driven my car with this setup, but the MILs hooked up nicely. I was told by Steeda and other vendors that have ran this setup that they work. We'll just have to wait and see.

I had the Bassani kit with an off-road H pipe and it sounded great, except for the 2500 rpm trumpeting. That sucked! I'm now running the same o/r H with the stock mufflers, and it sounds ok in my opinion.

Its really amazing the difference that a midpipe makes. I loved my Bassanis with the stock H, and I just wanted something louder so I added the o/r H. In my opinion it was borderline too loud, but I really liked it except for that trumpeting. I may have the o/r H for sale soon.

I have my car on storage insurance too but I still took mine out for a few minutes a few weeks back. What are the odds that something is going to happen?

Just take it around the block to see what it sounds like. I also have a Bassani axle back and I am trying to figure out what midpipe to go with.

I assume that at this point you would have no idea if you can smell fumes from your exhaust inside the car?

Was your prochamber catless like the H? Was one deeper/louder than the other? I have the breenspeed o/r H with the frpp/borla. It does have the sound at 2500rpm....only when you are driving.

Yes, I was running no cats with my Prochamber. I would have to say that the o/r H is a lot deeper than the o/r Prochamber. I really like both of them, but I am sticking with brenspeed's o/r H. It gives it a nice deep and loud growl, where as the Prochamber was not as deep.

Yeah, you're probably right. I think I'm going to take it around the block maybe tonight. As far as the fumes go, they were really strong when I first started the car and let it run for a while. They put that lubricant stuff inside the pipes when they fabricate them, which has to burn off. Plus, when you run no cats it's going to smell a lot more strong. Inside the car wasn't bad. From what I've heard it's only annoying if you're sitting there at an idle for a while, but other than that it's just the cars behind that will smell. Ha. I've driven in other cars with o/r pipes and it wasn't bad at all. Maybe if the wind blows or something when you're sitting still. I have the prochamber with no cats that bolts to the stock headers. It was like 390 from Ninosport. Pretty good deal because at a lot of other places it's going for like 420-450. I haven't heard an o/r h yet. I've heard the full bassani setup which is crazy loud, but more exotic and raspy than I like.

Like Holeshot said earlier, I really think it depends on what axle-back setup you're running. The o/r H is probably deeper/louder because I think the prochamber kind of acts as a muffler to tone things down a little.
