Well, I got home today and the mufflers had arrived. I was excited to see how they sounded so i ripped the old ones off and tried putting the new ones on. The darn hangers dont even come close to matching up. I have tried everything I can think of-putting them in one hanger first and trying to line up the second, connecting the pipes and then trying to line up the hangers, and I even tried loosening the OEM exhaust pipe up closer to the h-pipe to no avail. It took everything not to punt them out in the street. Anways, I called MAC and sent them pics of the problem and they said the hangers could have got bent during shipping but they are so far off it is just hard to believe. I tried the other side and it too was way off. I just dont believe both could have been that bent during shipping but who knows. Has anyone else installed these and had problems?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The sad thing is they look amazing and I'm dying to here them....here are some pics of the issues. Thanks.

Bent my **** lol...sure dont look like they are tweaked left or right...might want to try running down to autozone or checkers (kragens, wahtever its called where you are) and see if a generic donut or one of their exhaust hangers will work. I've had to do it a few times at my shop for aftermarket exhausts, but ive never seen anything THAT far off.

Yeah, when I called them yesterday I asked them if they had worked with preproduction vehicles. They said no, and better yet that they have shipped out alot already and I'm the only one having problems. I got up this morning and took some more pics of the problems and emailed them. They are on the west coast so I hope to hear from them soon. Check this pic out...its of the left muffler and I'm holding it pretty centered in the rear bumber cut out and the hanger is up past the insert, so it would have to bent something crazy to get it to work!!

If I remember correctly, you are at least the second or third person who has had trouble with the fit. You would think regardless of what/who caused the problem, they would bend over backwards to "make it right" since the 05 is just coming out. I am curious to see what, if anything, they do to help you. I guess Customer Service these days means Blame Somebody Else.

Mac may not have worked on the preproduction or early production units.
But your car may be one of those units.

Was your car one of the first 05s? (first couple months)

I took delivery 12/08 and it was built the week of 11/21 so I wouldn't think it was built that early on....

Alright guys, try not to beat me up to bad I took off the stock hangers to help get the old mufflers off and reinstalled them the wrong way Needless to say after finding out they could be mounted two different ways, I had them in a few minutes. I guess that is why you should pay attention when taking things off...anyways they are terrific!! Sound great and look fantastic. The tips really fill in the rear bumper well...here are some pics
