Lowering with a supercharger.. regret your spring rate choice?
Lowering with a supercharger.. regret your spring rate choice?
I'm about to install my BMR springs and supercharge at the same time. The BMR springs, upfront, seem to be specifically meant for the GT's weight only. I'm concerned when I add 100lb+ on the nose that my handling will be for the worse so I'm considering looking for 'supercharger springs' before I even install them to save on cost.
Is this completely ridiculous? Should I just work on weight reduction to counteract this (k-member, a-arms, etc)? How do the Steeda Sports hold up for a DD with a supercharger's weight? No autocross or strip, just a lot of miles daily driving, very long trips, twisty mountains and bad city roads.

I really don't think it's enough to upset things. I have the FRPP 'P' springs for the GT and they don't seem to be bothered by the extra weight of the Whipple & the T56 Magnum. The only weight reduction I have on the nose is the Steeda LW Rad mount.
I had the Steeda Ultra-lite springs in the front of mine but when I put the TT setup on the added weight of everything made it so low I was scrapping on everything. I put the stock front springs back in and it sits just fine for me now. Is your SC a TS or centrifugal type? A TS setup should weigh about the same as my TT setup, a centrifugal will be less.

If you want lowering springs I would get something made specifically for the GT500 instead of the regular GT. I actuall like the stock fronts with the added weight. The ride quality isn't bad and the car sits about right for me. I still have the Ultra-lites in the rear.
