K&N CAI
#1
Two weeks ago, K&N called me to ask if they could borrow my car for some more R&D on the CAI they were developing... rrobello got me the hook up, and I thought they had finished it all on his car... anyway, they took it for two days, gave me a 300C to drive (not a bad switch!) and then two days later he brought it back. As he hands me the keys he says... "Oh, we got the numbers we wanted, so we left the kit on there for you. Your old parts are in your trunk." Then he adds, "Just dont tell anyone yet, we dont want to relase any info..." So, I have been chomping at the bit!!! rrobello called me to let me know they were sending his out, and that they posted my dyno numbers on their website. YIPEE I can brag now. LOL!!!
I am off to take pics of the only installed K&N air intake, for now. rrobello was getting his shipped Thursday, so, he might have his as well.
Will post link to dyno, and pics of the kit later today.
Oh, and much love to rrobello, dude YOU ROCK!!!! Thanks so much for the hook up... K&N said they will probably use my car for adverts since mine was the first installed kit.

There is a '05 Kit on their site. It's the Aircharger kit for off-road and racing (ie... not street legal, off road and racing warranty only) part # 63-2565. Is this the same one as your's Jessica or did they give you the street legal model? This would make an easy switch with the stock version as long as you didn't have to flash the cpu.

I asked if it needed a flash, or tune. He said not needed. HOWEVER, a flash will increase the HP numbers, as will a tune.

4filters.com has it for $286.00. Seems a little pricey to me but if it really does 15 HP without a flash I'm all over it.

Not saying that the K&N is a bad product. Just saying that MMR claims the same thing that K&N claims, and I know what I thought about the MMR.

That looks exactly like the one listed on the site as "non-street legal". I guess we will learn more when K&N actually announce the "street legal" versions.

Haven't you seen the different brands of intakes for older mustangs? They are basically all the same thing. There will be no lawsuits...
