I completely agree that cold air is better. But the question is... is it worth all the hype? Putting a heat shield on an intake or routing it way down into the fenderwell is gonna get cooler air into the intake, but not "cold" air. You aren't going to get "cold" air with one of these kits. Putting a heat shield on it might get you another horse, if that. MMR is coming out with a race intake kit (upgrade, in my case since I ordered their regular kit). Comes with a heat shield and a smooth pipe to the throttle. I will wait for dyno results, but will be more interested in the smooth pipe getting more air into the engine, rather than the heat shield part of it. Because I really don't think cooling the air down 10-15 degrees is going to do anything worth talking about. I'd take more hot air than less cool air anyday. Just my two cents.
