There are two ways to break in a car... varying the engine load over a period of time or you do i think it's 2-3 pulls to redline wiht letting it cool completely down between runs.

I dont remember the exact procedure but it's an old school method.

I drove my car normally and then one day someone felt spry enough to try me at a light and it was no looking back from there... hahhahha

"DRIVE HER HARD AND PUT HER AWAY WET"

Bottom line... break it in on the hard side. It's best for overall performance down the road and hey... it's under warranty!

5 year / 60k mile powertrain warranty. For me, that means a 5 year warranty!

Really off topic, but is that safe? Haha When racing and what not I normally shift at the 6K redline, should I take it up to 6500 instead? (Mods in Sig)

As you can see they are about $5-10 cheaper in the top link.

Thanks! I'd never seen the FORD ones before.

AGREED! Drive it like you stole it; drive it like you have something to prove to someone; drive it like your shadow is chasing you down, attempting to return your ex-wife to you...... you get the point.

Your exactly right 06GTwJUICE. the purpose of this forum is designed for people who are seeking advice that need help especially when they have nobody else to turn to and under no circumstances does anybody have the right nor the authority to hi-jack somebody else's thread and then dictate as to what somebody's permitted to post or what they may not post regardless of whatever their reason/motive may happen to be and although Tito wasn't directly offended nor discouraged.. it's very possible there may have been other new members of this forum that were discouraged from asking for help as a direct result of those comments..Therefore there is no excuse for this type of behavior period and for those involved, need to take into consideration this is still a public forum in which everyone has a right to post their opinions/questions without fear of being intimidated nor discouraged by anybody for any reason..

Doing a search or at least reading up on how to dyno a car may help you out before you pay some tooner $100/hour to dyno your car in 3rd gear without the TC locked (if it is an automatic) or in 2nd gear or some non 1.00:1 gear ratio, and without any AF data. I've seen this happen way too many times and don't understand why. You can explain it 30,000 times on 50 different forums but it still happens.

I agree with what I've read so far, but I have one question.

And let him run it up to 6500rpm!!
My dyno man said 6000 rpm was high enough...he said he hasn't seen any greater gains or increase above 6000 on all the 05' and up Stangs he's dyno'd...I read Don's comments as gospel....why take it up to 6500?

On tifo's new dyno results I see it's starting to head down hill at 6000 also...The same as my results looked......just wondering??

I agree with Don_w. You need to test it in 4th gear otherwise the torque mutiplication of the transmission being in any gear other than 4th is going to throw the numbers off.

The rev limiter starts pulling power from the engine around 6000, with full cutout at 6250, that is why you will see the power start to fall off there. If you remove the limiter with a tune, the power does not fall off as much at 6K.

+1. I have my rev limited set at 6800, and shift points about 6250.

Also, my HP curve was still climbing at 6500 when we clicked it off. I don't know where it would start to fall off, but it was above 6500.
