I ordered my JLT Oil Separator, just waiting for it to arrive.

Finally installed my JLT Oil Separator today. Size is perfect I like this approach much better than catch cans mounted on the firewall or strut tower.

I've never heard of an engine designed to suck in oil to cool valves.

I've run engines without oil separators for years and years and never had a problem. Generally speaking, the only cars with OEM-installed oil separators are ultra-low emissions probably to prevent oil from being burned in the combustion process. But those separators are kind of neat where the oil just collects and circulates back into the oil supply.
