Dang, if I have to buy the mounts as well the Headers and H will cost me about 2000 bucks up here in Canada.

Why doesn't JBA mention you need the Steeda mounts on their website? I guess I should ask them directly...

From what I've heard you only need the mounts with the shorties.
I've had the longtubes for 6 months now with no problems. However, the mounts are pretty cheap and very easy to install when installing the headers. If you try to install them later, the headers will have to come off (at least the drivers side). So if you plan on mounts, do it while installing the headers, to save time and money if your having someone else do it!

It's a clearance issue.

I had the longtubes installed before I heard of the issue. The issue is for clearance of the steering linkage. I still decided to buy the mounts even though they aren't necessary with the longtubes. When I went to install them, I noticed that the drivers side header will have to be removed. That's going to be a chore so I have yet to install them. I'm just saying that if your gonna do it, save yourself from double work by doing them together.

Like 169stang said. The installation instructions from JBA recommends replacing the mounts.

FRPPs and BBK shorties have a cut out or avoid the steering linkage, the JBAs don't.
