Ok I know this topic has been covered lots before (already did a forum search) but I keep reading conflicting information. I have the flowmaster axle-backs and have removed the HC Trap. I am now considering putting it back in because for some reason it seems like there is a delay in throttle response. I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes as reccomended but I really don't see how that would make any difference.
I have never dynoed my car so I don't know what the before/after numbers are, but i swear it feels like I lost power after removing the HC trap. Also, I have not noticed any difference in gas mileage like some others have seen. What do you guys think? Put the trap back in or leave it out?

Not sure this will help but when I installed my K&N AirCharger, I put the HC in as instructed. Noticed an improved throttle response. Ran it for 1,000 miles and took the HC out, could not notice any difference except a little less MPG. Do not have Flowmasters but Magnaflow axle-backs. Put the HC back in until I get a tune since IMO its running lean. Since they have not even been using the trap since April (?) in cars, I don't think it make a difference.

My car was built in April and had no trap. I believe that was the month that they scrapped the HC

You must disconnect and reconnect the battery..
