It's a shame these billit shifters are not seen once they're installed. They're all sweet!

I don't think so. It's mounted too rigidly. It has a solid remote beam that has no give. The torsion mounts on both ends of the MGW are what make that shifter actually work. Anytime a shifter mounts to both the tranny and car's body you have to take into consideration the drivetrain will twist under torque and the car's body does not. The torsion mounts on the MGW allow this and cure the problem. Buy what you want, but this can't be denied and shouldn't be ignored.

Has anyone tried this shifter??? I have it sitting in my garage with my newly aquired used 3650(syncros shot in current trans). I dont know of any reviews on it yet and am hoping that its as good as it looks.

Yeah I have not seen any reviews eather. Are you going to use the Roush shifter arm? It's got a nice look to it.

If your spending the big buck, why not save up a little more and get the best? I just installed my MGW and have to say its awsome. For 50 bucks more you get all the stuff to cure NVH. To add to that you have full adjusability of how much of a throw you want and where you want your shift handle. MWG even shows you how to cure other rattles in the cockpit that Ford missed. My car is actually more quiet inside than it was with the stocker. If you want the Hurst **** just buy it and use it with the MGW.

But you can't install the Hurst lever right? I want a tall lever (**** nearer the steering wheel) and the Hurst ball.

Well all I can do is install it, experience it and post my opinion. Which I'm sure will be positive.

NVH - Noise, Vibration and Harshness

Turn off your radio and just drive the car and listen to all the noises. Just shifting the gears you can hear a lot of tranny noises coming into the cockpit. Usually when you put any type of aftermarket shifter in, there is never any thought to the extra noise coming into the car. You will end up removing factory sound deadeners and so forth to gain a better feeling shifter. My old Fox mustang was extreamly bad with buzzes and trany noises all the time. To me the noises somewhat cheapen the overall feel of the car.

MGW actually puts into its kit three layers of sound deadening. Under the car gets a layer of dynomat secured from the body of the car to the shifter base. Then inside the car, there is one layer of a thick foam material, and another rubber material that works with the shifter. With the radio turned off I almost hear no tranny noise. Feels like I'm driving a high end luxury car.

You defenately can not install the hurst lever with the MGW. I just purchase the Hurst ball that says hurst on the side and has the 5 speed pattern on top.

I'm not saying the Hurst in bad. I'm sure it is awesome but they just dont put any anti-NVH effort into it. To me this is imortant but probably not important to everyone.

Hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. But why not just simply re-use the factory sound deadening material for reducing NVH
