Right, magnaflow was a better choice.

The rattle I have heard so much about it. Is it while the car is accelerating, just idleing or going over bumps. I have aslight ratle but, I believe think it may a clamp problem. But, it is on the right side.

Mine lasted about 6 months the first time. You will know the sound if you get it. Its not just a rattle. This second set has been on a couple of months now and is fine. I get lots of compliments on the sound of my exhaust.

Mine was on the right side. It would rattle as you accelerated and it would happen at different RPM ranges, mostly 1100 and at 2700rpm. The best way to describe mine would be to take a 12 inch ruler and hold 3 inches over the edge of a desk or counter top and then flick the end of the ruler. It is a higher sound vibration that was embarrasing as hell

my third set are starting to rattle at 4000 RPM. It's very suttle this time so I will go under there and tighten everything to make sure it's not loose. This rattle started after 3 weeks.

I'm days away from my original 1 year purchase date so my warranty is running out. If they won't take them back anymore I am going to freak out.

Mine rattled as soon as I got them, but then I realized I needed to go against the grain of the instructions and followed directions from someone on the board and reclamped mine how they suggested. No rattles whatsoever, and I've noticed, as time goes by, these things sound MEEEAAAANer than they did when i first got them.

Its to the point now where I ALWAYS drive with my windows down just to hear it when I accelerate.

Mine started rattling less than a week after being installed, but then it turned out that one of the passenger side muffler supports had not been re-installed properly. Now it's all good, after 5000 miles.

I still have a question to all of you who had the "real" muffler rattle: did you find out what was/is causing it? I just want to know what to expect.

Yeah I now think I didn't have a rattle with my set. I swapped in the new ones and have a more defined rattle occuring on the left hand side making me think something as the car shifts (typically happens at low speed when I turn left) that something is rattling against something. I have to get back under there and take a look.

It is from the internal baffles coming loose due to poor welds. It sounds like a ruler sticking out from a desk about 3 inches and then flicking it.

Mine were in fact NOT experiencing the baffle rattle. Once I retightened the clamps I was good to go. I had them positioned right but just didn't crank them down enough as I was being to paranoid.

Once I really clamped them down they've been perfect.

I had thought mine were rattling, after seeing a thread similar to this. It turned out that it was the bell-housing rattle, because Ford decided to leave out two of the bolts. I think you can just search around on here for "bell housing" and you'll find a pic and bolt specs. It was a quick job to replace them once up on Rhino-ramps.

I post this not to distract from the Flowmaster problem, but because others might have a rattle, see this thread and immediately assume it was the Flows. It's what I did. I recommend you hit 'em with a rubber mallet to make sure they're the source of the rattle. If they are, make Flowmaster give you new ones. If they're not, check those bell-housing bolts.

The baffle rattle is different than the clamp rattle.

I swapped out my Flows 3 months into the original ones last year due to baffle rattle.

The new ones that I have on have been rattling again - annoying the tar out of me. Turns out it's the crummy clamps - I should have listened to others here and NOT USED THE CHEEP CLAMPS that came with the Flowmasters.

I just torqued the tar out of both clamps - now I am rattle free!
