Yes they do, they are offering the kit in two ways, intercooled and non-intercooled. For the auto's though its only one way, NON-intercooled because they think the auto tranny can't hold the power.

I've been on the phone with them alot this week as I've been installing a Whipple on a 06' F150 5.4 and I spoke with them about that kit as well.

Later Doug.

LOL... that's bizarre. I have yet to hear of a single 5R55S tranny that has failed due to high power. Even with well over 500rwhp and/or 500rwtq, and running 10-sec ETs in the quarter. Of course, mine will probably be the first to let go now that I said that.

Auto's and a Whipple

Is it just me or is the differences between the auto and the manual just the tune. Which if it is , then you could order the intercooled version and have it locally tuned for the AUTO. Or is there a lot more parts that are different for the auto version. There can't be that much difference I wouldnt think, but you never know.

I agree that it's all in the tune. In fact, I got my KB before the auto versions were released, but I had it dyno tuned from scratch.

I'm with you on this one Don, I've tuned a Vortech car that makes 444 rwhp and drives everyday. That's fine that Whipple NOR MAGNACHARGER will release a Hi-po version for the Automatics because that just leaves room for the Dynotuners out there! hahahaa. I still think the engine will go before the tranny, and can't wait to find out!

Thanks, Doug.

My last dyno numbers were 452rwhp and 522 rwtq (at 3300rpm). But I haven't been able to go down the track yet. I'll found out then how this tranny will hold up to a 3000rpm stall converter, 4.10s, big drag radials and oodles of low end torque. Keeping my finger crossed. hehe

seems to be around 450ish but with a really good tune you can surpass that mark. jsut rememebr though just because one person can run 500rwhp doesnt mean you or anyone else can. yes we all have the same engines but some seem to be a tad weaker than others when it comes to major power adders such as superchargers, turbos, and nitrous.

Well that supercharger will be put on my "to do" list but not for awhile. If you are running a supercharger like this one are 4:10 gears too low for a 5 speed manual or would I be better off with 3:73?

I'd love to get one of these and install it on a base GT. It's very tempting with the deals they have been giving on the regular GT's and the 0% financing. With the car being some 200 - 300 lbs lighter than a GT500, it might just give a stock one a good scare. Big difference would be when you start to increase the boost, then the GT500 will have the advantage regardless of the weight difference. To be on the safe side I'd look into upgrading the internals on the car before turning up the boost from the stock setting.

GrayPny,

If you look on Ford Racing's web site, the FR500 Stang uses the same blower and 4.10 gears.

i liekthe 4.10 gears but they are pretty steep with a twin screw. i might opt for 3.73's if i could do it all over again. the 4.10s seem to blow righthrough my power band
