Hey Rich,
I when out and looked at mine and I believe it is just a press fit in the valve cover. At least that looks like the way it held in. I am assuming you still have the valve covers on your car. I think if once you take the cover off you my be able to gently tap it out from the inside.

It has a cam lock style fitment. You twist it and it comes out. I can't remember which way counterclockwise I think. Two small tabs on either side of the neck slide into grooves in the cover and lock it in place.

Well there was a tab on the lower part of the neck before I broke it off but I don't see any tab on the top and that baby ain't moving so far.

Great to hear Rich. I know when I took mine off it was stuck pretty good too.

Next question regarding the plug located beside the oil filler neck. I got mine unplugged and the connection removed, but do I need to remove the black, circular piece that the plug connects to? Atleast for powder coating anyway?

Yes when they power coat something after the apply the coating it goes into a oven and ehated to somewhere around 250 degrees. I know we had to replace some plastic bushing on two brake arms on a HD Bike because they melted.

I used a large socket from the back after I removed the cam cover and hammered them out. Installation reverse of removal.
