How do i run a different maf

What would i need to run a MAF that was made for another type of car in my mustang GT? The other MAF is a calibrated for a different size injector. It will obvious have a different transfer function.

Suppose I don't want to reflash my ECU, but want a larger MAF. I was only wondering what it would take to retrofit a different MAF into an 05-07 mustang. I'm not saying that i want to do it. But, it would be nice to know how all of this fits together and generate some technical discussion.

For example: (i'm using made-up numbers here) If i took an MAF that was calibrated for an LS1 with 70lb injectors and put it in a mustang that had 39lb injectors, would i have to cut the voltage from the MAF by ~50%?

To do it properly you would need to recalibrate the PCM using the MAF transfer tables and the injector settings. If not then the Load rating in the PCM wouldn't be correct for the application and if your load value is off then your timing and fuel tables will be off too.

Thanks, Doug.

Sounds a lot harder than a reflash of the ECU.
