Nope, not installed yet. The stupid s/c isn't even in my possession yet. I paid on Dec 24th, it's been a month and a half. I'm getting pretty pissed.

Don, I think you are right about the 3.4" pulley being for 10 lb of boost. I got the 8 lb pulley and it's labeled 3.6".

Well if you ordered direct from Saleen then I wouldn't be suprised. It took me three weeks to get my HID head lights.

Stock injectors and a stock fuel pump at 8psi would be rolling the dice in my opinion.

And why would you want to put "bigger" pulleys on the Saleen???

I stand corrected. got my thinking backwards.

Anyways, I can't think of any other reason whipple would charge a $grand more for the 10# kit.

Here's another for the KB. On these runs, Adam was bone stock except for the KB, an upgraded clutch and drag tires. The entire exhaust, gears, and everything else was stock. These 1/8-mi runs are equivalent to low 11's in the 1/4-mi. Don,
Why is there such a big difference in his times and yours; do you think your Auto is slowing you down that much?
I'm really starting to look at a supercharger (I was dead set on a procharger) but now I'm starting to look closer at the KB.

Do you have a link to the SC?

It's easily found via eBay search: http://search.ebay.com//search/search.dll?...en+supercharger
There are 4 others listed for $5130 with free shipping...Haney Motorsport, AMP Performance, Parkway Ford and Stage 3 Motorsports

I don't believe the Saleen S/C includes a tuner. Tech support told me I'd have to send my computer to them and they'd reprogram it.

That stink's...Who in the world did you order from?? I Ordered my Saleen from JDM and it was here in 4 day's. I went with the 3.4" pulley and it is the 10 pounder. They have a 3.2" and it is the 12 Ib. I hope your S/C'er get's to you soon Clockworks. I just (like 30 secs ago) got off the phone with a Saleen rep. My supercharger was shipped to the wrong address. Can you believe that? I ordered from texashotrods.com.

For the past month and a half, I have been calling texashotrods.com and been getting the same old "we ordered a large shipment from Saleen, hopefully your's will be in that shipment" answer. I got tired of that answer, so I've been calling Saleen directly for the past few weeks, and they have been giving me the exact same answer, "there are lots of orders to texashotrods.com, hopefully your's will be arriving soon."

Finally today, I requested that Saleen put me in contact with Joe (a Saleen rep in Houston). Joe had helped someone on modularfords, who also ordered from texashotrods and had been waiting over a month. That dude is on the ball! He immediately figured out the problem and resolved it with the shipping company within 15 minutes. He said it should be at my door tomorrow and he even gave me a shipping number (something I never got in my 1.5 months of waiting). To top it off, he's an extremely nice guy!

Now my questions is...why couldn't anyone at THR or Saleen Headquarters do what Joe did??

Glad to hear your finally getting it!! Look's like were both going to be busy this weekend!! Sounds like they should put Joe in charge of shipping there at Saleen and be done with it LOL...

I don't know the specifics for the Whipple, but KB sells a full kit and a "tuner's kit". Both come with the CAI and the BAP. But, the tuner's kit does not have the Xcal tuner, 39# injectors and 90mm MAF. The tuner's kit is $400 cheaper. I bet Whipple's deal is similar... bare bones vs. complete kit.

Several reasons: (1) he was running at 12psi boost, (2) he had a more aggressive tune and race gas, (3) he was on a better track, and (4) with the auto tranny I can't launch much above 2200rpm, whereas he can launch much higher. I'm not interested in sub-11.50 timeslips, because I'm not ready to install a roll cage. But, I'm definitely gunning for the 11.70 range. I suspect Adam will be in the 10's pretty soon. And after he builds the bottom end... low 10's.

Well guys,

I have probably had as much trouble with my Saleen install as anyone. If I had it all to do over again, I would buy a complete kit from JDM and install it myself. Mainly so that I could take more ownership of the project.

If you do this, I do not see any technical reason to pick the KB over the Saleen. This is especially true if you have an automatic. Don was lucky in that the guy who did his tune is also a automatic expert. He was able to deal with the problems that the extra HP and torque can cause with the electronic throttle system and torque management system. KB currently does not offer a tune for the automatics and you will be relying on a local tuner to tune the car. Unless you have someone like Adam, it can be a big problem....( trust me I know )

Given similar PSI and tunes, the Saleen will make as much hp as the KB. There are several people with the Saleen s/c with an 8lb pulley that are making similar numbers....

With 20/20 hind sight, I would probably still pick the Saleen over the KB because I like the looks better, but I would have got a complete kit from JDM... However, I think both are good units...but the devil in in the details....

Well, that is my 2cents...

Here is the info on the Saleen supercharger i found on ebay for $4300. I don't have the link to the product but I do have some other infomation that will help you get in contact with him. The website address is www.biscayautomotive.com ... I found it listed on ebay about a week ago, but it's not there now. I asked him if the price of $4300 for the supercharger reflected the new price increase. He replied that $4300 was his price currently and that it may go up in summer time when he moves into his new shop with increased overhead. Give him a call and ask for it at that price, maybe he will honor it.

What did the $4300 price include? Was it a complete kit? If that can be had, I just might do that. I was going to wait to get the bottom end built, but for that price I might buy it and let it sit under the bed until the motor is ready for some boost. Or maybe I'll run conservative numbers until the motor can handle a larger load

the saleen setup the way it comes does not give enough power for the price, IMO. when i was looking at getting it, i wanted to run it with at least 7.5# and all the other upgraded crap it needs to run at that boost.
