Help with Hurst
I installed a Hurst billet shifter tonight. As far as I can tell, I followed all directions exactly, with the exception of spinning the stick 180 degrees from what is in the directions so that the handle is in the right direction and centered. The shifter feels fine and engages all gears. The problem is that when in any gear, the shifter has tremendous side to side movement, almost like the trans is in is in neutral. This can't be right, can it? Any help would be appreciated.

When you are in first or second gear, the lateral movement should be minimal. If as you stated it feels as if it is in neutral, you have something incorrect in your install.
Refer to the above link and see if you can find the issue. If not, PM me and I'll do some more digging.
