The Hurst should help, I think your Saleen might just be binding.

 

Not being able to get 3rd gear has nothing to do with the saleen short throw, unless you installed it backwards.

 

I've noticed the same issue with 3 different 05+ GT's I have driven. Paul's High Performance even makes a part to solve the problem, and yes, it seems to be torque related.

Installed hurst shifter it`s was easy it took about hour .The shifter is taller fills like your driving a different car more shift control

 

Good, we can finally let this topic drop off the list, I'm sick of seeing it.

 

Installed hurst shifter and ran 8.957 at irwindale last nite 1/8 mile track .I figured out the problem if you slam it hard into second gear won`t go into 3rd .

 

I'm not sure exactly what the problem here is, but I will add that sometimes just driving around I have trouble getting the stock shifter into third: It feels almost like there is a "lip" that it catches on between the first and thrd gear slots. Not very technical, I know...
