From your pics you have it installed wrong. Turn it around. In your pics you have an open spot by the ABS lines. There should not be a space. The back of the shield should be there. The open section should be against your strut tower.

I have a C&L, but my airbox looks different. They must have changed the style.

The C&L does stick up just a bit but that is to help create a good seal between the hood and the engine bay to help prevent hot air from entering the air filter.

You may need to loose the TB hose and try and puch the MAF end of the tube down just abit but everything else looks fine. The hole for the ziptie should be right beside the ABS metal lines.

Thanks, Doug.

but in my second pick from the new batch i put up it's not next to the abs lines or is it???So i should loosen and push down on the rear of the intake tube,so thAT the hole intake lowers itself?

Elliot,

Try to loosen the hose clamps where the C&L Intake tube attaches to the Throttle Body and push the tube down a little. I suspect that you may have the tube set too high and it's pushing everything up (like the heat shield).

Once you get the heat shield in the right position you can re-tighten the clamps.

Exactly!

Loosen the clamp on the rubber coupler between the throttle body and the tube, but leave it on. Just enough so that you can freely move the intake. Push down on the spot around where the MAF sensor bolts in, while still holding the intake from coming away from the throttle body with your other hand. This should push the whole assembly down.

Chris

Also: Yes, C&L had 2 different heat shields come out. So you will see some people with your same shield, and some with the other shown in the post above.
