HELP! 3k miles and the Engine light is on
Something is really wrong…….
The Engine light came on and I'm getting the following message in the display
FUEL LEVEL LOW
DTE FLI DATA ERR
I went to the Ford Dealer (Red Mcombs Ford, San Antonio ) and so far it look like they don’t have any idea for this one, they already called Ford and they are waiting for a response, in the meantime I'm driving my car with the engine light on + the f**** error in the display pop's up every 10 minutes….….
Anyone having the same problem ?….

Luis - is your fuel cap installed correctly? Try disconnecting the negative battery post and letting the car sit for about an hour...that should clear the CEL - but if the condition is still present - it will come back on after a short while....have you done anything to the car (mods, etc) that would be tripping the CEL?
Reminds me I was going to ask if anyone had a list of the computer error codes? Back when I had my '00GT I was able to find them on the web somewhere.....

Bradley - no mods, the dealer is working on the car, they called me an hour ago and they are ordering a wire harness,
it will take 3 to 4 week to deliver but from what they are saying it looks like they don't really know what's wrong....
Here's what's happening while driving on the car
The CEL is on and every 10 to 15 minutes and after a couple of beep's the fuel gauge will drop to empty and the following message will be displayed
FUEL LEVEL LOW
DTE FLI DATA ERR
A couple of minutes later the fuel gauge will go back to normal and the display will have the total miles again…….

I just started having the same problem on mine, just at 2200 miles on it. It started after a fill-up today, I checked the fuel cap and it was replaced properly. We'll see what Berge Ford has to say later this afternoon.

I had the same problem (accompanied by DTE ODO DATA ERROR) last year. My first visit to the dealer for service, all they did was reset the DTCs. On my next visit however, they replaced both fuel sender and fuel pump modules. It's only been a month since the work was done but the errors have not returned. Yet.

that happened to me once right after i was messing with the engine fuse box going 100 on the highway. I had a camera on me and took a picture. I pulled over and went to the fuse box and pushed down and wiggled all the relays and fuses and never had a problem since.

The error code had something to do with a the fuel gauge low voltage or something
