Had the round (FFRC) Borlas installed. These things are so loud I cannot hold a normal conversation, listen to CDs or hear my JLT do its thing inside the car. I believe I will have them removed next week and try to sell in my local area. Stock mufflers going back on.

I suggest you try the bassanis, they have a great sound and are quieter

What do you mean "have them removed". Please tell me you are not having a shop do this for you. BY the way, I have the FFRP and they are perfect. I can hold a conversation just fine, and at highway speeds, they sound as quiet as stock.

Mongoose, did you encounter any rattles when taking off in first for a second or when turning?

I have the Flowmasters (17410) on mine. It is slightly louder than stock (and definately a tougher sound).
This is one of the easiest installs there is don't pay anyone to do it.
Less than one hour by myself and a set of Rhino Ramps

I have a before and after video if you want to listen to the difference from Stock to Flows. PM me if you want them

I went for the FlowMasters because I was worried that would be the case. The flows are awesome, actually sound quieter in the car at times, but louder when you want them to be. And fantastic from behind, or so I am told.

Yes, indeed I had them installed. It no longer pleasures me to work on anything but I do like to drive it like I stole it. I do supervise the work on my GT. Employees only in shop means nothing.
I do like the sound as it is not the typical Ford sounding BLAAAA. It is just too loud.
There were no rattles but I can see where there might be if the clamps were not installed correctly and brackets are not tight. Mine were thanks to this forum. I am sure you will locate the problem.

I'm sure that you won't have any problem selling those Borla's.

Mongoose, I feel your pain or I should say, I felt it. When my Borlas first went on I thought it was too loud even though it sounded great. The drone caused me to grit my teeth. I actually missed the stock system.

Then, after a few weeks, it started to appeal to a different side of me. I regressed back to my high school days. My "Fast" was reborn! Now I can't imagine going back to stock. Screw the neighbors!!

I have had my Borla Stingers, #11750 on my car since I picked her up, and I couldn't be happier with them. Every time I hit the throttle, I have a big grin and smile on my face. I've been able to hold conversations in my car all the time. I love the sound of my car with these. They may have cost more than Flows, or others, but IMO these are WELL worth the $$

Sorry the mufflers didn't work out for you. Good thing you didn't get the SLP LM's!

I'm sorry too that the Borla's weren't what you expected. Your first clue should've been that they're 49 State legal. Maybe you can exchange them for the Q's (the quieter version).

Good luck.

I could see some people not liking the volume...
They are loud... but I can still talk to people in the car and listen to music.

As Bill suggested if you like the borla sound, but don't want the volume, they have a more regular volumed Q set.

Although I'm sure its louder than stock, just not as loud as these 'straight pipes with coffee can resonators' S-Type

I have the FRPP's and love em to death. Conversations and playing music under normal driving has not been a problem. Our club had a cruise in at the mall this past Saturday - alot of folks didn't believe the rest of the system was stock.

The only problem I have ever had with the sound of the Borla mufflers is when I dropped my Dad off at church yesterday and the parking lot was full of people leaving their cars. I got some nasty looks but acouple of people gave me a as I slid out of the lot into the street.
